About this house rental
Welcome to THE HIVE! Bring your swarm to a sweet retreat just a short buzz from the pool, beach access and the other million-dollar amenities The Cottages have to offer. You enter the Hive through the kitchen, which is fully equipped with all stainless-steel appliances, both a standard and a Keurig Coffee Machine, everything you will need for cooking and baking and an oversized bar top perfect for quick meals. Up to 10 can dine with four seats at the bar and six at the high-top dining room table. The worker bees have freshly decorated throughout and there is a fireplace with an enormous 70” TV in the living room. The King Master bedroom is on the first floor along with a screened-in porch that has a comfy sectional for gathering or napping. Upstairs, two Queen ensuites share an upper porch with conversation seating for five. You will also find a bonus room upstairs with a futon and large screen TV for gaming, movies, etc. For the worker bee, an office desk and chair are on the upstairs landing. Outside, there is a gas grill, lounge chairs and a table that seats six. Inside the garage, you'll find beach chairs and an umbrella ready for some fun in the sand! The HIVE will leave your family buzzing about the great time they had on Jekyll Island!

If our no pet or no smoking policy is broken, a $1000 fine will be charged AND you will be asked to vacate the property without a refund.
THE COTTAGES BEACH ACCESS:
The Cottages beach is approximately 2000 linear feet and has a dune area and seawall that runs the length of the Cottages oceanfront property. There are 3 dune crossovers to the sand area landside of the seawall that are always accessible, and that area can be used for recreational purposes. The access to the beach over the seawall is centrally located at the pool & clubhouse. At high tide, the water is at the seawall. The tides change every 6 hours from low to high tide. A tide chart will help you plan your beach time. The nearest beach park with ocean access all day is Oceanview Beach Park, appx 2 miles south just past the Holiday Inn. You may view all Jekyll Beaches by visiting the Jekyll Island website under the Beaches tab.

Convenient location to pool for my daughter and her family with young children. The cottage was clean and well appointed. The cottage had plenty of room and even a room for the kids to use to enjoy by themselves. Enjoyed the screened in porch and grill.

The house is absolutely beautiful. We loved spending time on the porch and walking to the community pool just steps away. You do have to check for the tides because you will not be able to go on the beach when it's high tide.

My family and two other guests stayed for a long weekend at this property. It was clean, new, and well organized.
I would definitely stay again, but a couple of minor issues.
Parking at the condo was a challenge for anything other then a small car or two. My full sized truck would not fit and I had to park at the clubhouse which for this property was across the street luckily.
The back door was very difficult to lock.
The grill starter is broken and I had to use a lit piece of paper to start it.
The refrigerator was warm when we arrived and it took a day to cool down, we had bought $400 in food we had to keep in coolers for a day.
The AC was unable to keep up with the heat unless you set the upstairs and downstairs to the same temp.
We called maintenance on the fridge and AC and they checked both and found “no issues” so maybe we were being dumb about it, but they came within 24 hours to their credit.
No TV in the master bedroom was kind of a bummer.
Only 2 smallish frying pans.
Pillows in the master were uncomfortable so bring your own.
Got a “friendly talking to” while checking out as I had parked my truck with one tire on the grass to avoid blocking the street. I really tried to avoid it, but I was only there for 20 minutes to load the truck. A “friendly” older lady chose to tell me I was parking inappropriately and to “please don’t park on the grass in the future”. I just said thank you and moved on lol.
All these issues were not enough to ruin a great stay!

While the weather did not cooperate, we enjoy our weekend escape flight Jekyll Island. The property was very well appointed and in an excellent location. The amenities were also great.
