About this house rental
Ocean Cottage 123 Beachfront and poolside! What more could you ask for? This 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom Cottage is just steps away from our zero-entry pool, amenities center, and beach crossover. Take in picture-perfect views from the top balcony, or enjoy your morning cup of coffee on the first-floor porch, this Cottage has it all. You enter this home through a bright and spacious kitchen, fully equipped with Whirlpool stainless steel appliances, a Keurig coffee maker, everything you need to fix a home-cooked meal, and a bar top with seating for four. Flowing from the kitchen is a dining table, with seating for four, and a spacious living area with an abundance of seating and a beautiful fireplace. Off of the living area is the master bedroom, furnished with a KING bed and a large ensuite bathroom. The first floor provides easy access to the porch with outdoor dining, two Adirondack chairs, and breathtaking views. Finishing off the ground floor is a half bath and stackable washer and dryer. The second floor is home to two guest bedrooms (KING), each with its own private bath and access to the upper balcony. In addition, guests have access to The Cottages at Jekyll Island million dollar amenities, which include Clubhouse, zero entry pool and fitness, beach deck, beach access and community fire pit included.

Overview: The Cottages beach is about 2,000 feet long, featuring a beach deck, dune area and seawall.
Access Points: There are three beach access points with the main access located near the pool and clubhouse, one access point in the mid-north area and another at the south end of the Cottages.
Tide Information: At high tide, water reaches the seawall, changing every six hours. Check a tide chart to plan your beach time. The sand area landside of the seawall is accessible at all times for recreaation.
Nearby Facilities: Oceanview Beach Park, about 2 miles south past the Holiday Inn, offers all-day ocean access. Explore all Jekyll Island beaches on their website.
Important Note: Storms may affect beach crossover access, therefore we cannot guarantee beach access at all times.

It was a bit of an unexpected stay. There was an entire manual of rules when we arrived that no one could actually review and follow and included a list of fines if things weren't followed. The beach really wasn't something the kids could play out, at least while we were there. Tide was always up and we couldn't get across the bridge. We weren't notified until we received an email with check-in information that there wouldn't be beach towels provided, though every other beach rental we've ever stayed at has included these. We rent a lot of places and have even had our own rental. I have never stayed somewhere with such a poorly stocked home. If I were the owners I would be concerned with the people managing the property. We had to hand wash cups because there were hardly enough to use for all 6 of us. Very minimal selection of pots and pans. The starter kit was so minimal that it only included shampoo, no conditioner, and not in every bathroom. it also included only one garbage back and we didn't even have hand soap provided for the kitchen sink. It felt like the bare minimum had been done to provided a clean house for someone to come to. There were many maintenance things that if I were the owner, I'd be concerned with as well. I saw other reviews discussing the paint from over a year ago, and this still hasn't been addressed. Furniture is broken and missing handles for cabinets or drawer, burners on the stove not working, etc. Just poorly maintained and prepared for guests.
