Hotel was great, my room, bar, staff & breakfast were all excellent! Reception staff were very helpfull, I would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to other relatives visiting my Grandson at Uni in York x

Only a short walk from the train station, Wheatlands Lodge Hotel was impressive to look at on first view from the street. Well kept garden at front with seating and tables on lawn. Welcomed on arrival, quick check in, offered a local paper guide to York and a complementary hot drink.
The bedroom was comfortable and clean but did look a little dated. The ground floor view from the window of a rear outside service area was disappointing as I guessed those on other floors, especially at the front, would have a nice view of the front gardens and beyond. An issue with the bathroom was fixed quickly upon report.
The breakfast was excellent with a good menu choice and was served by friendly and attentive staff. The complementary wi-fi had good strength in my room and was fast enough for streaming on my devices. I would look at staying here again in the future and would greatly recommend it.
