Very kind hosts at a veru special place

Our hosts could not have been more wonderful. Christine bakes amazing things for breakfast. And Bertrand kindly gave us a lift to two superb restaurants locally - and we had some great chats about old cars and life in general. Thanks to you both and to Leon, the biggest and luckiest cat in France !

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, hosted by an equally beautiful couple :) The rooms are quite newly renovated and in exceptional condition, with attention to every decorative detail. We were served an amazing breakfast, all home made by our hostess and served in the sunny garden or in the beautiful dining area.. The indoor swimming pool was very refreshing on hot days and the temperature was perfect! The property is located near the amazing Loire Valley chateaus and wine caves as well as towns with wonderful restaurants, cafes and various other attractions. A wonderful week! I hope I can return again one day…

This is definitely one of the best places we have stayed at. Christine our host was warm, friendly and professional. The room was extremely comfortable in every way, and every thought had been given to its layout and design. The large courtyard garden surrounded by historic buildings was lovely, as was the pool. But I am saving the best to last because Christine’s breakfasts were absolutely outstanding. So much variety of food, and so beautifully presented, served outside - perfect for these Covid times. We honestly didn’t want to leave this little paradise in the Loire Valley. Oh, I almost forgot to add how convenient the location is, very close to Chenonceau and many other sites worth visiting.

Good location

The bed was super comfortable, nice linen and we both had great night sleep. Good breakfast. All homemade. 3kms drive from nearest town, which had lots of restaurants.

The room was quite small, felt a bit closed in. No mirror or wardrobe. There is no bar and evening meals are not available, as stated on the website. We were asked to sit at the breakfast table with two other couples, felt that social distancing rules not adhered to.We have stayed in several other properties in the Loire, which were similar quality and much cheaper. Feel that this property is not good value for money.

Ideal hideaway for relaxation and a great location for sight seeing. Food and wine exceptional.

The breakfast was 5 star, all home made or from local producers. The house was beautifully decorated, stylishly chic and very comfortable. The pool was just what we needed after a long day visiting Beauval Zoo. The bird spectacle is a must-see! The owners at La Folie Saint Julien are very welcoming and kind. We couldn't have asked for more!

Exceptional place! Incredibly comfortable and elegant

The house is beautifully renovated and decorated, with a very fine taste, mixing old furnitures with modern fittings. Very large and comfortable bed, super clean room and bathroom. The host is a chef, cooking a 5 star home-made breakfast every morning. She also cooks dinners twice a week. And she knows the region really well and was a good adviser to help us design your Castles discovery trip. We will definitely come back!

The village around is very small and not particularly nice, but it wasn’t an issue to find nice restaurants and historical villages a few KMs away.

Très belle étape pour profiter des châteaux de la Loire

Un superbe endroit, la suite Saint Julien est topissime. Très bon petit déjeuner et le plus, la piscine abritée dans une grange. Pas très grande mais suffisante pour profiter d’une fin de journée de visites. Propriétaires très sympas.

La météo ne fut pas au RV dommage.
