Beautifully restored building and safe parking in the back garden.

Restaurant closed some days and no other food option in hotel. Hotel will book a nearby restaurant for you 5 minutes walk away.

historic hotel in besancon, probably the best in town.

This is a converted monastery, and rated as best in Besancon. Lots of historic charm, but basically old. Lighting in room is very limited. Parking in back, but limited and tight. Dining room is not owned by hotel, but food very good. Staff friendly and pleasant. Very atmospheric. Our suite is pretty large, but the small stuff (bathroom, toilet, closets) carved out of odd spaces. I'd stay here again.

Beautiful and comfortable hotel

Beautiful hotel located near the citadel. It was very clean and comfortable and the staff were really helpful and welcoming.

The spa facilities are quite basic with just a small pool and a steam room. I think the price of €35 to use the spa wasn’t justified given the limited facilities but otherwise the stay was very pleasant.

Beautiful setting. The room was very comfortable, beautifully decorated. The bath tub was amazing. The staff were amazingly kind and helpful. We enjoyed the spa experience. Very conveniently located as well.

Look forward to next time

A beautiful, tastefully renovated monastery in the centre of the old town. Our room overlooked the garden. Cars are securely parked in the garden. Very pleasant staff and a very good breakfast. Helpful team on reception always willing to assist.

Unfortunately restaurant closed on a Sunday evening so can’t comment on that.

The location was great and the accommodation was good value for money.

The rooms were compact but were very well equipped, comfortable and the finishes, particularly the shower room, were of a high standard. The breakfast experience was great which was personally provided by the owner.

Good location, very stylish but a few niggles.

The toilet didn’t flush properly. There is a seating area on the first floor which has an adjoining wall with the bedroom that we were in. Unfortunately, if people are chatting, even quietly, it is as if they are in the room. The breakfast room is very dark.

Great room outside of the main facility.

First the hotel offered me the smallest chamber in the house. It did not fit the description in booking.com and was much smaller than all other rooms. After some discussions at the reception I got another room offered at a facility a few hundred meters away. It was a pleasant stay there.

Best place to enjoy Besancon

A very nice historic place, very nicely kept in the original state with all modern facilities. We really felt relaxed in this pleasant hotel and in our room, with very good beds, a nice balcony, great breakfast and super service.

Great hotel - we enjoyed!

Location is near to the citadelle of Vauban and the area is nice and quiet. Room was clean and still has some features referring to the hotel's past as a converted church. Private parking was great as it was definitely necessary in that part of Besancon. The view from our room even looked out at the citadelle. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Only a minor comment - the quality of breakfast ingredients was very good but the range a bit limited. Some scrambled eggs would be nice :)

Lovely!

Really cute rooms. Our room for a family of 4 opened up to a little courtyard. Easy parking. Really lovely staff! Quiet location but easy to access the 'downtown' area. If we're ever in Besancon again, we'll definitely stay here again! Also, we enjoyed breakfast here in the morning. Couldn't have been easier. Lovely spread of eggs, bacon, ham, pastries, cheese and breads with fresh juice and tea/coffee. We also had dinner at the restaurant but thought it was a little expensive.
