Pleasant stay

Great location right in the middle of the old town. Very helpful, friendly staff.

Private parking is a few streets away and in an enclosed yard not garages. Last time we stayed it was in a garage behind doors which we preferred as we like to leave all our luggage in the car.

Older hotel but well maintained.

The hotel is centrally located with lots of restaurants and stores in the area. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was good (cost of EUR 11). The wifi was strong and the bed was comfortable. I liked the decoration in the room.

If you have noisy neighbors like I did, it does take away from the experience. I don't know if the walls were thin or if the neighbors were too loud. I couldn't get the tv to work properly.

Value for money

We had a lovely stay here. The room was very clean, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. Even though they didn’t speak English very well, they did everything they could to communicate with us and make sure we had everything we needed. The only small downside was that the breakfast felt a bit limited, but overall we were very satisfied with our stay. Would definitely recommend.

Great old hotel in centre of Besancon. Lots of charm, high ceilinged, spacious room with lovely big windows. Staff very helpful.

Toilet and shower a bit old, not well isolated from rest of room, no extractor fan.

Excellent situation in the heart of the town..most of which is pedestrianised. Parking was nearby in a private location. Staff took us there and back when needed. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room overlooked the street...but there was not much traffic at all. Vehicle access into the town is only by arrangement...you give your registration number...which is read by cameras at the entrance roads to the town and bollards go down for you to enter. Photo below taken from our room at night. Besancon is a MUST to visit!

There was no overhead shower in the bath...just a hand-held...but we did not book the more expensive rooms as we were only there for 2 nights - so not the hotel's fault but ours!

Hidden gem of a hotel in a hidden gem of a city

Great location in the heart of the city (really couldn't be better). Great breakfast with freshly pressed juice. Good value for money. Friendly and accomodating staff. Definitely worth recommending.

Bathroom and the toilet (separate from the bathroom) were very narrow, limiting your space to move around. As in many other (most?) French hotels, no kettle, tea or coffee in the room. No air conditioning, but a large floor standing fan was provided.

Old style French hotel in the centre of a beautiful city

A better than average small hotel in the town centre. Very 'French' feel and continental breakfast was pretty good for 2 star. Staff very pleasant. Parking was secure (although a little trek away). But the city of Besancon is stunning and being in the heart of the old town was a real bonus.

It was a bit noisy at night. On a narrow road and the schools just finishing were the main reasons..

Great location, but tired hotel

The hotel was in a fabulous location and instructions to get access to the hotel to drop luggage off were very good.

The hotel is very tired and dated. We booked a superior room but were given a Standard room which was very small. We were refunded €10 on checking out when I asked what standard of room it was, which I was happy about.

Family hotel

The hotel is very well located in the center of the old town, everything is walking distance. The furniture is old fashioned, but the room was comfortable: small bathroom spotless clean. They have a closed storage room for bicycles, good to know for a second trip in bike season.

The location is fantastic, the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, and the atmosphere welcoming.

The room was stuffy, and there wasn't air-conditioning.

Great Hotel, Great Staff, Great Location

There was alreays someone at the reception, even at lunch time and late evening. Friendly Staff. At the arrrival, there was even someone who joined me to the parking. The lady at the reception was friendly, flexible, and helpful. Clean rooms. enought linens and towels. Location is just amazing, in the heart of city. Despite to it's center location, because the hotel is on a sub street, it is quit in the night and even with opened windows, there were almost no noise from the streets. Great price value. The hotel is very flexible and I could check-in already at lunch time. At check-out day, I was able to leave the luggage and my car at parking until late afternoon. I would love to stay at this hotel again for the next visit in Besançon.

Above expectations

Great value for the money. The lady at the reception was very helpful. The beds are comfortable. The location is great. The room was warm. During the night there was some loud music from another building - we told the receptionist and the music stopped soon.

Very charming family hotel located in the beautiful old town. Great breakfast, comfortable beds and the staff had a good English level (which is hard to find in France). They had prepared a bed for the dog and left a bowl for water. 😍
