Downtown Forest Hostel & Camping

hostel is in a large older 3 level building cleverly purposed as hostel, including spaces for camping/vans, and some outdoor cabins friendly reception, with limited info - if only people were at least pointed to some reference info that you notice later (see improvements) dorms have windows! with fresh air solid bunks, local power outlet, no curtains, small locker avail for deposit, towels given. showers and toilets are spread throughout the building - even if some may be out of service. common areas a good: multiple indoor spaces with tables and lounge, excellent large kitchen, pay washing machines, huge back outdoor bar/food (group arrangement) garden area and many tables - also popular with locals coming in at certain times; night quiet is managed well. the bar turns out to be a separate operation.

improvement: at checkin, after the key bed/wifi details are given, make mention of references avail for local info incl food places, transport and more, : - such as wall page with eating & transport ideas, and that the stairs up through back garden lead out to streets for 10min walk to lidl supermarket and also to bus stop 1 min from top of back stairs - across road in front of hostel is a urban redevelopment where on the street level there is a plaza of eating places, and down the ramp there are multiple cafes.

Very noisy, lots of people outside the hostel having party and making noises even in the middle of the night

cool atmosphere, staff seems to like their job and positive

one night was cold but overall very good

Room lock has issue. Cleanliness is a major concern for me. Location was bit far away.
