Overall nice mountain hotel.

Close to village centre.

The bathroom was very small.

Basic comfortable stay.

Close to centre and station.

Being woken up at 6:30 by the truck collecting empty drinks dispensers and delivering fresh supplies. Also clearing the driveway of snow early morning waking us again. No hooks in the bedroom to hang skiware and limited choice of breakfast fare.

Great stay at Hotel Alpina.

Great location, but up the hill from main street, so quieter. Great dinner and nice breakfasts. Excellent, attentive staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Have washer/dryer on location to do laundry. Will come again!

Nothing really. The hotel is on top of an incline of a hill so just to note for those people who may find walking uphill difficult.

Perfect stay in Grindelwald

What a lovely experience we had at this hotel. A two minute walk from the train station so extremely convenient. The view of the Eiger from the hotel is breathtaking. The hotel itself is beautiful so well maintained and very homey. We were here before Christmas and it was decorated so tastefully for the holidays. The breakfast/dining room is cozy and welcoming and the continental breakfast offered is abundant with made to order hot drinks and eggs if you wish. They have a drying room as well as laundry room available which was very handy as well as a family room with games and books. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. If we ever return to Grindelwald we will be sure to return.

The rooms were incredible. We had amazing views from the balcony. The location was perfect, near the train station and the centre of town for shopping, drinks and food. The staff in the hotel were all very helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were very good. We will definitely be returning and spending longer there

Wonderful, totally enjoyed the stay and the area. Already planning to go back in 2026!!

This is a family run business. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast in typical European, loved it. Location is right in Grindelwald and a short walk to shops, restaurants, pubs, and especially the train station. The room had an amazing view of the Eiger from our balcony. Highly recommend getting a mountain facing room. All in all, a very nice place to stay and again, the owners are extremely wonderful people.

So glad we chose this accommodation

Was a fabulous location and great, spacious light filled room. The staff were friendly and accommodating and we felt very much at home there. There were enough options for breakfast and service was always delivered promptly with a smile. Enough power sources in the room to charge phones and use any electrical equipment. Loved the fact that there was a washing machine and dryer onsite. Close to everything we needed. Would definitely come back!

The ONLY thing that could be improved was the way the hand wash dispenses in the bathroom. You have to turn it upside down and squeeze to get it out and ours was nearing empty so we ended up having to use both hands to squeeze it into the sink and then scoop it up for our hands. Was really hard to get out. I know we could have asked for a new one but we were nearing the end of our stay so didn't bother.

I had a lovely stay and would stay here again.

The room and breakfasts were very nice. The breakfast had made to order eggs upon request and I enjoyed the friendly service. I appreciated that the owner/manager knew the hiking trails very well. I bounced off him my intended hikes each day and his input was very helpful for a first time hiker to the Berner Oberland.

It's not that I didn't like the uphill perspective of the hotel. It was a little tiring after hiking all day which I did. Don't let that curtail you from booking a room here. Almost anywhere you stay in Grindelwald there will be a hill.

Lovely hotel.Centrally located,clean,comfortable. Some of the rooms have an outstanding view of the Matterhorn.

All Swiss hotels seem to think a duvet is needed, even in summer! They are far too warm and affect one's sleep.

Expensive compared to what you expect

It is located close to the train station~ it is clean and the beds are comfy~ the balcony was a plus point!

The walk up to the hotel is steep and the shower area is small for family with kid (so hard to shower the kid in the tiny space). The breakfast is not well replenished as the cut fruits always run out in our 4 nights of stay. Asking for extra towels was difficult and hosts could have been more accommodating~

- Location is very close to Grindelwald station. - Food was tasty.

The beds are too old, you feel the springs inside. Could not sleep properly because of it. Felt more tired as we could not rest because of bad bed. We asked for more blankets next day to put them on the floor to sleep on them. But that is still not good enough for our rest after a hectic day walking and hiking around. We had to wait for more than 1 hour for a single main course dish that too when it was the only thing we ordered.

Good location. Nice welcoming drink at reception.

Sticky sofas and table tops when checked-in. We had to clean the room ourselves for 30 minutes before we dared to unpack.

Great view from superior room

I stayed in a superior room with mountain view. I had relaxing time for a few days. It was worth the money. Very short hike up on a small hill, just a few minutes walk from the station, but super quiet. Looks like family owned/operated, low key yet nice cozy feeling. The young front lady (the daughter?) was very helpful and nice.

Please use a better hand soap dispenser. Otherwise I had no complaints.
