So inexpensive, I think in our *** (not a super-powerful currency) it was *** incl. all taxes for the night for us and our 17 year old daughter. At that price who cares if they only give you 30 min of free wifi and I don’t know maybe 1 or 2 other super minor things you may expect, I can’t even remember that’s how irrelevant they were. Can’t have everything for nothing. The place had a solid restaurant/lounge too, we enjoyed it. Superb value from this Travelodge!

What might a hotel say if you erroneously booked the wrong date or have a medical emergency? A good one would say, ok I get it, yes let's do something. Travellodge Gatwick, was completely the opposite. And it wasnt just a single request, it was a series of events increasily serious, and they simply refused. My experience with this hotel is solely in the booking process and flexibility where errors or issues occur. My story behind this hotel sounds like something crazy, but its true. I booked 1 night at this hotel and around 3 minutes after booking realised I had booked the wrong month - A Tuesday in July vs a Tuesday in June. I asked to cancel the hotel said Agoda wouldnt let them, Agoda said the hotel wouldnt agree. To demonstrate my error, I booked the Tuesday in June and asked again, again I was told Agoda wouldnt permit it. I wrote to the hotel directly and not just via Agoda. So now I have two bookings with this hotel. One for the intended date, which as yet, is unused (in July). And which I wont use as Im not in the UK then. So for my first of the two bookings, now all completely paid for, A few days before I arrived, my sons father called me and asked me to pick up my son earlier than planned from Oxford as his new partner had gone into labor 2 months early and he needed to return to Singapore. This meant I couldnt practically be at the hotel at the same time as picking up my son (completely unplanned). So I write to the hotel. (Im sure they must think I am mad) advising of the new situation, saying I can provide proof and can I cancel my booking due to medical emergency. What do you think the hotel said? Again it was a no, not possible. Sometimes in this world you come across people who will move mountains to help. As did a number of people as my son's father had to fly to Singapore in an emergency, I had to fly to the UK to pick up my son and many people in between who helped. This hotel, no where close, miles away, . At a human level, it just makes you wonder in some cases what the world is coming to. So really disappointed by the complete lack of humanity. And I can only expect that dovetails into teh experience at the hotel.
