    Great location, lovely rooms, only down side was the air con switches itself off through the night making it a very uncomfortable sleep during the heatwave.

    Property is good and staff is friendly . We only stayed overnight so won’t have much to share but property is good overall. Would be lovely if they had a pool to relax after a long journey.

    Large comfy bed, easy lift, opening windows with good views (considering were very close to Gatwick airport. With a frequent shuttle bus this is the place we will book if flying into Gatwick.

    When we arrived, we immediately noticed several issues with our room. It was hot, so we turned on the air conditioning. The toilet had urine in it, which we had to flush before using. The kettle and the house phone were both dusty. All of this made us question whether the room had been cleaned at all before our arrival. I tried calling the front desk and housekeeping but got no answer, so I went down to the reception area in person. The lady at the front desk offered us a new room, but we had already unpacked and were exhausted from our trip, so moving was not really an option. I simply asked to have our room cleaned while we were still in it. One thing I could not help but notice was that she was on her mobile phone while I was explaining everything. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed she was messaging a manager or colleague about the situation. After the room was cleaned and the bed sheets were changed, I called the front desk again because the air conditioning had turned itself off automatically, maybe after about an hour. A guy answered this time. He initially thought I was asking about the dryer, and when he understood I meant the A/C, he suggested setting the temperature to 21 degrees. I told him that would be too warm for us and that I wanted it at 19 degrees without the auto shutoff. He put me on hold, and at that point we were so exhausted that I just hung up and went to sleep. Nobody called us back. At 2 AM, I woke up sweating because the room had gotten so warm. I turned the A/C back on manually. It shut off again sometime in the morning but I was too tired to deal with it. The next day, breakfast was genuinely excellent. I then spoke with the Duty Manager and shared everything we had experienced. He apologized right away and offered a 50% refund for the night, acknowledging that what happened was completely unacceptable and should have been sorted out the same evening. We were travelling alongside another family who had no complaints and enjoyed their stay. Honestly, we would have felt the same way, as the accommodation itself is fine. It was just really unfortunate that things went the way they did for us.
