Hôtel Rallye & Entrées aux Bains de la Gruyère

Good location, free parking, large room (we were 4 people). We also got a free entrance for the Bains but unfortunately didn’t have time to go there.

Everything was good just a little weird that when we went for breakfast, an hour before closing there were already out of ham, cheese, yogurt... They said they don’t refill anymore. But they brought us some extra yogurt.

Very comfortable room, large and cosy.

Only hard boiled eggs for breakfast (no scrambled eggs)

Many positive things: the receptionist gave us a very warm welcome, we received free tickets for the Thermal Bath of Charmey, free parking in the property, a welcome package with 2 mineral water bottles and 2 chocolates, kettle, coffee, tea and sugar. The room was sparkling new and the location is quiet. This hotel is highly recommended.

Absolutely nothing.

Comfortable bedding and pillows. Nice bathroom soap and lotion. Special requests on reservation were noted and provided, except for required/reserved car parking.

Our late arrival was met by not being able to reach an English speaking person on the emergency/after hours arrival phone. In fact, we were hung up on when we asked in English. Further, the (obviously at that point) late arrival (when the desk closed without our having then yet checked in) was very disconcerting. Fortunately, we had (international roaming) internet access, so we found the email containing our assigned room number, and with the key box code allowing us to access our room key. Honestly, a DIRECT PHONE CALL from the front desk (and the use of the last four digits of our contact phone number from the reservation) would have been FAR BETTER SERVICE!! Further, the single coffee machine at breakfast broke and was not in service for quite some time. Honestly, the entire breakfast layout could be improved (more shelving, less horizontal space consumption), and offerings increased. Better layout would also permit the provision of additional coffee/hot water machines, as well. Duh! Even the service personnel gestured impatiently while waiting for the 'back up' coffee machine (located behind the hotel bar) to dispense beverages. Needs improvement!!
