Excellent location and very very friendly and helpful staff. And that’s where the positives end. The room was dated, but that can happen. More worryingly, it was very dirty. I stay in hotels biweekly, and it’s been some time that I stayed in a property this filthy. There were clouds of dust on the floor, with dead flies, ants and whatnot trapped in spider webs. The shelfs in the “wardrobe” were similarly dirty. The walls had blood spots (probably from the killed mosquitos), the blinds on the windows too. Shower had poor water pressure and water was lukewarm at best. The AC functioned, but emitted sounds of an old tractor. Windows provide no sound insulation.

We were staying at Hotel Centrale after arriving in Tirano from the Bernini Express. We arrived before check in time, but the incredibly welcoming receptionist managed to check us in early and also gave us a fabulous pizzeria recommendation for lunch. She was also ready with recommendations for dinner, and other activities, but we'd already booked somewhere. We stayed in the classic room which was clean and comfortable. The heat coming off the towel rail had the room at quite a high temperature, but once we closed the bathroom door, it was no longer an issue. The bed was comfy, the breakfast was delicious and good value for the 10 euros per person fee, and I would absolutely stay here again if I were in the area.

I have written to the property - totally misrepresented. No parking. No spa/jacuzzi. No two bed rooms. Very disappointing. I have asked for an adjustment. One response from management that did not address all the issues. Overpriced, especially since they did not have the amenities represented. Checkin rep said they are “working to correct their marketing that mis-represents”. Unacceptable. I would not have stayed here at almost $200/night if I had known.

Hotel Centrale is a jewel hotel. The staff at reception, Giovanni and Irena, were friendly and helpful and it showed that they really care about their guests having a great stay. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the washroom was very clean. They served a very good breakfast.The location was within walking distance of the train station and excellent restaurants. It was a good starting point for walks around the beautiful city. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The gentleman who checked us in spoke English, German and Italian. The room was clean. However there was no air conditioning. We had a fan and one window in our room. It was comfortable with the window open and the fan on. The hotel was about 1/2 mile from the Tirano train station. Although I liked the staff and our room, we had trouble sleeping at night because of the noise level outside of the building. We had to keep our window open to avoid becoming too hot but the street outside had a good amount of traffic and a stoop across from our window was a hangout for a loud group of teenagers. If there’s a room that does not have windows facing the street I might stay here again. However I did not get a good nights sleep so I will probably not return to this hotel.

It was a easy 10 minute walk from train station but not much signage to help you find it , All employees were every kind of helpful. Only issue was with a barking dog right outside my window and never got the ac or fan to blow to help since the window was closed to help with dog noise issue. Reception was very very helpful and eager to assist. Breakfast was also above average.
