All very good

Brilliant place to stay. We stayed here for something next door in Dock 10. Staff were lovely breakfast was great.

Fanastic service at check in. Room had amazing view and bathroom was spotless. My only compaint was the floors were creaky and it kept me awake for past of the night.

After spending over £200 on the room booking (£140), refundable deposit (£50 - pay on arrival and refunds 3-5 working days) and parking (£11), I was left very disappointed and expected much better customer service. I've heard bad reviews before, but I had never experienced anything myself. I will now avoid Holiday Inn hotels and choose to stay at other hotels, even if it costs more. We were not aware of a £50 additional deposit to pay on arrival, and some may not be fortunate enough to pay this. We first entered our room to find hairs on our bed. I then went down to reception and was told by the receptionist that housekeeping would be with us straight away. I had another conversation with the duty manager, who requested that I email pictures. There was no urgency to this request, so I thought I would do this when I returned home and not spoil our experience further. Two hours had gone by since check-in and we had no visit from housekeeping to change the bed. I returned to the reception, this time far more assertive. The duty manager said the housekeeping request was cancelled as I had not sent any pictures. Firstly, what has happened to the customer always being right and secondly, why did they not come up to the room and take pictures for housekeeping in the first instance, if this was needed. I find this absolutely illogical. Anyway, after this fiasco and stress, 2:30 hours after check-in to our £200 stay, housekeeping arrived and they changed the bed.

Reception staff friendly and helpful, breakfast the same. Room clean although I did notice a build up of fluff in the air vent grille above the door.

This is a great hotel for the price. The location is excellent, the staff is warm and friendly, and the breakfast is excellent. Will stay here again for sure!

Had to change rooms due to noise in 1625. It was either building work or plumbing system

Lovely staff. Lovely room. Only issue was the bed was uncomfortable and felt unstable in towards the centre

The hotel looked great from the outside however, when we arrived at our room there was issue with the cistern running constantly. Despite raising this issue twice, no-one came to fix it. The cistern ran continually and noisily all night. It was so loud it kept us awake. We spoke to the receptionist the next morning who shrugged her shoulders and said they’d look into it. Very disappointing.

All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable with pillow options being a great feature.

Bed and pillows really uncomfortable

We stayed here because it is a 2 min walk to the Lowry. The metro brought us straight to the hotel from Manchester Picadilly, just 1 min walk. The reception and bar staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good value for the cost and the breakfast staff were exceptional. The bedroom was extremely clean and tidy and the beds were comfy.

Good room. Friendly staff.Couple of glitchs. No plug for bath and check out seemed understaffed at times leading to queues.

Great area

Check in was at 2pm but there were no rooms available. We checked in during the evening and the room was basic. The toilet seat was broken and the room was tired looking. We ate in the restaurant at 8.30pm and I asked for a vodka and Diet Coke and was given a Diet Coke. I asked again for a vodka and was told that it was in the glass but it didn’t seem so as it was only a single. There was actually no liquid in the glass, only ice. The waitress took the bottle of Coke and the glass away and came back with the Diet Coke in the glass and said it had vodka in it . I couldn’t taste any. The meal was very average. My husband had a ribeye steak which was gristly. I had a Malaysian curry which tasted like a microwave meal. We would not eat here again.

Location excellent in media city and adjacent to multi story ( don’t park outside hotel). Room was large and airy and breakfast was excellent. Staff all amazingly friendly and helpful. I’ve noticed a big change in holiday inn over past few years but this is by far the best I’ve used. Thank you.
