Mercure Moulins Hotel de Paris

in general the property was ok, but it was very VERY badly isolated , we could hear the neighbours above us walking. room was ok but small , bathroom was good. we had a small balcony , perfect for sitting outside .

The rooms were lovely and well appointed. Most staff spoke a little English so communication was not an issue. I liked having access to the spa however perhaps there should be one point of payment to prevent Being confused. There was no access to a restaurant which would have been nice to know at the time of booking.

No restaurant for dinner. No other comments I'm just adding the extra characters required

We have stayed here before so were looking forward to a relaxing 2 days. WRONG! Restaurant closed, bar closed, pool closed, terrace and garden closed no air conditioning (waiting for an engineer). No facilities in the hotel at all. The staff were embarrassed. I complained that this info should have been posted on the website and they blamed someone else. Reception was left unattended at times and not all staff speak english. This is not a 4 star hotel and the listing is misrepresenting. We spoke to expedia and are waiting a response. The hotel offered to waive the parking charge (16 euros) which was an insult for the lack of facilities. I will escalate this further. Dont go!!!!!!!

We knew Hotel de Paris in de centre of Moulins. So after three cold and rainy days in another location we decided to drive on and stay there for use of the Sauna & Wellness and cosy facilities of this classic old hotel. We booked through Expedia. On arrival, we learned that the hotel had been changed into a Mercure Hotel. Gone were the classic, cosy, attractive lobby, lounge and restaurant. A "Cave des Viandes" KFC-MacD style diner and what was once the culinary restaurant 1834, was now just a breakfast room that serves the same dishes from the diner, in a slightly (hardly,,) better atmosphere,,, Tables are laid with plastic laminated menu cards instead of linnen.... Bur worse was to come,,, Sauna & Wellness? Désolé, Privatisé et fermé. But the Expedia and Hotel websites advertise both the Restaurant and the Wellness are there. (Sunday, Monday the same thing, Tuesday, the same,,,,) And we went there specially for the sauna. Lucky the weather turned,,,, Swimming Pool? Had not been cleaned for a long time and wasn't cleaned during our 4 day stay. Breakfast buffet,,,, OK, but when something was ahead of you and took the last egg, croissant, coffee pad, mineral water or orange juice, it was gone and Not ever replenished. Scrambled eggs, made at 7,00clock, but if you had breakfast at 9.00, they are seriously burned/dried out. First morning i tried Grapefruit juice,,, it had Gassed and was sour. Tried the next bottle, that exploded of mass. We never saw new,.. it goes on

The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of everything Moulins has to offer. We stayed on Sunday and the restaurant was closed as was most of the rest of the town, but a café steps from the front door was open. The room was fairly small but the splendid bathroom made up for it! The staff were courteous and helpful'
