Centrally located hotel with various quality rooms. The single room was modest with a tiny bathroom but nevertheless fine for a single night. Breakfast typically Italian with lots of sweet pastries. Minimal fruit. Nice outdoor space and noticed large indoor play area for children.

The bathroom was exfremely small. It was difficult to get to the shower. This was located at the end of a very narrow bathroom. Just next to the shower, there a sink on the right side. I had 30/40cm to get into the shower, not nice. Also, the wc very close to the radiator/heating. My left knee was touching it. Considering it was hot, i could not sit comfortably at the wc. Last, the receptionist did not let me pay the local tax by debit card/bancomat. I had to pay in cash and the chat with the receptionist was not pleasant.

Yes, it was fine. The hotel was in a good situation for arriving in town by bus and it was a good starting point for seeing wonderful Gubbio. We had a lovely view out of our window.

At first glance from the exterior the hotel doesn't inspire confidence but once we stepped inside we were very pleased as the hotel looks like it was recently remodeled and very nice. Our room was also very new, the bathroom was clean and looked like it had been updated recently. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was excellent value proving a tasty, full course meal including wine for 20 euros per person. Definitely would recommend this hotel!

Great location but there is no parking so you're on your own to figure that out. We found street parking that was not posted as a no parking area and got a parking ticket, so be careful where you park. The room was very nice and had a balcony. The floor was dirty, but everything else seemed clean. The bathroom was absolutely tiny but had everything you would need and was fine for one person.

San Marco is the perfection place to stay while visiting Gubbio. It is easy to get to by car and parking was right next door and easy to do. Walking to and from town was quite easy to do. The hotel is a lovely "old world" type of hotel and beautifully decorated . . . a "touch of class". Breakfast was lovely; we did not eat dinner there, though.

In main square at bottom of hill on which Gubbio sits. Easy to find, free parking possible, but plenty of paid parking. Large, family run hotel in old convent, nice if a bit tired. Perfect location for visit to Gubbio. Has restaurant. also big airy breakfast room overlooking garden. Reasonable breakfast included.

We stayed for 1 night. It was very easy to find. The room was fine, typical for an Italian hotel of this rating. The room was large enough, and had a small balcony, and Wi-Fi was available. The breakfast was as expected. Parking was not difficult. I would probably stay here again if we were on our way somewhere (as we were in this case). If, however, we were going to stay in Gubbio, I would probably book an hotel more in the hilly center. The San Marco is not far, but it is a steep climb to desired restaurants etc. All in all, though, we liked it.

This hotel in its day would have been a four star establishment. However, it appears to be struggling to keep its doors open in the current economic climate. They turned the air conditioning off at the main switch every time you left your room to save money. The restaurant had a menu, but not all the items were available. The staff were friendly. The foyer and lobby were decorated with beautiful furniture and art work.

During the time we were there the hotel was occupied by a group of French people who smoked continuously. This, along with their noise, coloured the atmosphere of the hotel for us.

Hotel San Marco was in a very good location - right of the main town square. Easy point to start off walks around town. However, the hotel staff was standoffish and didn't speak even a little bit of English. The room was facing the square and the morning traffic was very loud. The room itself was fine and spacious but not comfortable. No area rugs. The beds consisted of a single mattress on a metal spring frame. The sheets were thin. The towels were thin. The shower used a plastic liner that was not clean. There were much nicer and more comfortable hotels in the town.

Whilst staff were welcoming and helpful,the room provided was small and the shower room extremely cramped. The hotel restaurant was pleasant but breakfast was limited. It sufficed as an overnight stop-off.
