Hayley had done a great job preparing yhe room. It had a fresh smell, very clean comfortable bedding and plenty of freshly laundered towels. The room had plenty of space and the beds were very comfortable. Loved looking out over the canal and watching geese and swans swimming. The staff were exceptionally helpful. From our arrival and letting us know the room was ready earlier than expected, to helping with parking query, and sorting a spare toothbrush for me. Even at after 1am when we returned from a birthday event the staff were polite, wished us a good night and had a smile. Nice range of food choices for breakfast in the morning too that was regularly replenished.

Breakfast was a disaster. Pais £15 and nothing was replenished. No yoghurt, no croissants, no pastries at all. No bran flakes. No muffins. No bowls, coffee machine was empty the other broken. The boiled eggs were old, slimy and rancid tasting. The waitress i pointed this out to was rude and needs to stop calling people sweetheart. Its completely inappropriate.

Very tired looking hotel, over priced. But staff were great. Parking is an extra charge (as if I walked there). Rooms old, beds uncomfortable. On my stay I was moved and upgraded because the power didn't work in my room. First room there was a random spoon in the sink (no big deal) but second room the sink wouldnt drain. There's no AC and the room was hot, the portable unit provided was ineffective. In summary, better value can be found elsewhere where.

We had a lovely meal in the restaurant, Vicky P was fantastic throughout the evening. I was unwell during the stay and needed to book an extra night, staff were kind and so caring asking my husband if I was ok. Will definitely stay again. Pool access was brilliant and included in the price.

We only stayed for one night and didn’t use the restaurant facilities so this review is in the bedroom condition. The reception staff were friendly on arrival and check in was smooth. The bedroom is very tired marks on the wall, the window couldn’t be fully closed had to leave on tilt which would of been ok but there is a pub right opposite that has music playing till after midnight. Some of the furniture had been replaced but the old wardrobe had had doors removed and the frame was damaged. There obviously use to be a mini bar but the door to that was screwed shut so when they removed the fridges rather than removing the cupboard they just screwed it closed and the casing was damaged. The bathroom again very tired the side of the bath again was screwed on some had white caps over the screws others didn’t. The shampoo in the bath was empty. Also you have to pay for parking even though you are a resident. In summary an old hotel that need a lot of TLC

We love our stays at the Copthorne Merry Hill. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and it's so convenient for the shopping centre and loads of other amenities. Restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices. The spa is small but an added bonus with hot tub, pool, sauna and steam room. Staff are friendly and helpful - Adam on reception is a star - five star in fact!

We stayed for 2 nights and stay here whenever we come to the midlands but this time the room was so hot as you could not open the window and no air conditioning just a small fan which we had to turn off in the middle of the night due to noise. Also we forgot to put the sign out to have a refill of tea bags for the following and when we asked the lady was very rude and you would think I would have asked for my money back . Normally everyone on reception is helpful and lovely. I had not seen this lady before and definatley recommend a customer service training course would help. Other than this it was a great stay

For ladies not great for drying hair and getting ready in relation to mirror and lack of chair/shelf (or table). Sink set too far back to make it easy to use. The restaurant menu wasn't great and sadly for a room less than 1/2 full the service was poor. We waited 20 minutes after finishing our main course and HAD TO GET UP AND ASK STAFF FOR A DESSERT MENU!!!!!!!!!

You can see that they take goid care with the cleaning .. top stars to the vleaners also Would most definitely highly recommend if in the area ..
