Staff - from the receptionist being at dinner so we couldn’t check in, to the waitress who didn’t know how to pour wine, the waiter shouting down the phone at a colleague on how to make an omelette, the constant forgetting to bring dishes that had been ordered, ordering three different types of coffee and when they arrived they were all the same….it was so bad it became funny! Rooms - don’t be fooled by the decor when you arrive which is very cool - the bedrooms are like stepping back in time to a 1980s apartment in Eastern Germany! Beyond the decor the heating in the rooms had two settings - boiling or open a window and be slightly less boiling!!! Food Menus - don’t believe what is on the menu….whether for dinner or breakfast half the items are not available! And of those that were the chocolate fondant at dinner was the worst! It was a slice of Starbucks brownie with some cream on top!

I ordered room service one night as it was storming and it never came . I had to call and ask why . Then none of the items were available. Other than that , excellent hotel , great location and staff was excellent. Would recommend the property despite what happened

An excellent hotel in a quiet area which is a short walk to Lake Zurich and old town. We had a very comfortable and extra large suite (thank you for the upgrade Amber). Great breakfast options. The staff were all very friendly. Would definitely stay again.

The lobby is beautiful and the staff is warm and very professional. The rooms are very spacious 1 bedroom flats. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very nice in terms of decor, service and food. The only negative comment and why this isn’t a 5 star review is that the room service was surprisingly disappointing. The food itself was cold and the fowl breast was dry and not appetizing.

I recently stayed at Alden Hotel, and I must say it was far from the luxury 5-star experience they advertised. This place is actually part of an apartment building in a residential area, and there’s nothing luxurious about it. Our room felt like someone bought a random apartment, furnished it with outdated, mismatched pieces from a flea market, and labeled it as "luxurious." The furniture wasn’t even "vintage" – just old. To make matters worse, the rooms are not soundproof as advertised. We could hear the guests above us, including their kids running and yelling, well into the night—until 3 AM! It made for a very unpleasant and sleepless stay. Overall, I feel misled by the description of this hotel. It does not live up to its claims of luxury, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a true 5-star experience.

Fantastic stay at a lovely property quite convenient for shopping and walking around town. Staff was consistently above and beyond. Appreciate the room upgrade to the executive suite. My only gripe was that the a/c didn’t do much and at night the hotel was so well heated that we had trouble sleeping. If you aren’t used to American a/c cold room sleeping or bust, you won’t have any trouble. However, the bedding, bed, and overall service still made it a lovely stay.

We stopped at this fantastic hotel for a single night. ALL the staff were superb … charming, generous and could not do enough for us. Top quality service like this is very unusual in my opinion. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alden Suites. The staff was fantastic and always welcoming. The room we stayed in was large with a separate sitting room connected. Breakfast in the morning was excellent as well. The boutique hotel is in a quiet area and about 20 minutes walk to old town Zurich so manageable for sightseeing.
