Spark by Hilton Bardstown

Everything was pretty nice for us, it was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing I have to complain about is the pillows that were in our room were not comfortable for us, they were very fluffy and soft, we felt like they provided no support so we had trouble falling asleep. But the bed itself was very comfy.

The room was missing the refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer and coffee pot. I informed the front desk and they made a note of it, didn’t offer any equipment. The shower didn’t drain well enough to keep the bathroom from flooding. Informed the front desk, asked for another functional room and they said they were all booked up. The parking lot was only 1/2 full, maybe all of the functional rooms were booked up. They gave us some extra towels so we didn’t slip and fall in the bathroom. The place was recently remodeled, looks like they didn’t really finish and are not paying attention to quality at all.

I was so very disappointed in Spark. The information provided by Hotels.com was not accurate - one example being the lack of electric vehicle charging even though it was advertised that it was available. Another was the lack of amenities - no ice buckets or in-room coffee, and the hot breakfast was a joke. The few items offered were all cold, and the staff blamed this on Hilton. But the worst thing about the hotel was it's lack of cleanliness - trash on the floors and in the elevator . . . it was just plain nasty.

Ac was noisy

The doors had duck tape on the handle. Any key card would not work on one exit door. Pool had a broken ladder and padding was coming off all of the ladders handles.

Everything was great. Breakfast was great. Bed and pillows were comfy and clean. Bathroom and shower were beautiful. My only complaint would be the shower cleanliness. There was hair and dirt handprints on the inside walls of the shower. It looked like they hadn't cleaned the shower. Other than that, everything was great.

Elevator squealing, parking lot in need of repair

The hotel was currently under construction when we checked into our room we had no water pressure. The remote for the television did not work and we only had one towel for the both of us.

We didn't realize the property was doing renovations. We had to walk outside to get to the office or breakfast room. One bad thing, was the pool was filthy and definately needed work.

The place is under construction. People started working at 7 in the morning. There was dust everywhere. Plaster on the rugs everywhere. No hot water one day and no water the next day. The shower floor was slick and I had to put a towel down to keep from falling. I payed right at 600 dollars for this nightmare. Not sure I will use your service again.

Stayed overnight with my kids and was looking forward to it based off reviews. However when we got there the hotel is under construction doing renovations. Wished that would have been disclosed prior to booking so I could have made a different choice. We were not able to walk thru lobby to get to our room instead had to walk around the building outside which is not preferable with 2 children and the sun going down. Also no breakfast was available as there was a sign that some amenities would be unavailable due to construction.

In the middle of remodeling. Workers were loud and talked loud. Kids out in parking lot were messing around and loud. High school boy checked us in. Another high school boy checked us out. They were polite though. Hot breakfast was ok, but workers were loud at 8am. Tables were dirty. Ran out of coffee by 9am and not replenished before we left.

Loved it all. Nothing was above anything else. Nothing to complain about. Thank you for everything.

The property was under a significant amount of construction. About a quarter of the parking was gone in an already small parking area. Breakfast quality was poor; much lower than when we stayed in the same hotel 2 years ago.

The staff was excellent...Rooms clean and pillows were terrible. Had to move rooms due to renovation noise. Even though we moved way down hall the renovation then was above us Husband has medical issues and could not rest. We left a day early even though we had paid for another night.

Upon check-in (I reserved through a third party), I was told I needed to pay again. I showed him my confirmation from the third party, and he said it was unacceptable. After much back and forth, it was finally straightened out. Then he told me he needed my credit card for a $10 fee. I asked what for and he told me it was for the third party. Again, I said, No. Again, after going back and forth about it, I gave up and let him run my card. In the morning, I asked the lady at the desk, and she told me that it was a hold for incidentals. I would think he should have known that information. I also had trouble because I had 2 reservations. We decided to come a night earlier than initially planned. The young man told me that he checked me in for my entire stay, but he had not. I wondered what would have happened to my things while I was gone since I had not been checked in for the next 2 nights.

This is a very nice property and the people were amazing…the breakfast was awesome…they got our room ready early so we could get in early for our train ride… I would definitely recommend this place

It was a handy location. The carpet was very worn. Ice machine on 2nd floor was not working. Had to go all the way back down the hallway to get elevator down to 1st floor then down the long hallway to 1st floor ice machine and back up to 2nd floor room.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were very small. Room had a curry smell to it.

While this hotel was very clean there were a few minor inconveniences that make us not want to stay here again. We booked a weekend getaway. The first issue was not being able to access the pool with our room key after 6 pm. We were to have someone from the front desk come and let us in. The pool and the pool room was freezing btw. After having a late night and wanting to sleep in the next morning there was constant "pecking" in a neighboring room before 9 Am . Apparently the hotel is "under construction" Then after finally giving up we discovered no water in our shower. Then our second morning we decided to have breakfast but a few of the breakfast items ( Egg omelet and biscuits) were out .. All of these issues along with the horrible 1 ply toilet paper and we will skip this hotel next time...

The hotel was clean but pretty run down, the price was right however! They were also in the middle of a remodel ice machine was broken on second floor. Breakfast amazing

Dirty room and unfriendly staff

Hampton has always been great, BUT the bed and pillows were worse than sleeping on the floor.

Although this is an older property and they are renovating, the common areas are well maintained and the staff are super friendly!!

This property is in a convenient location with plenty of parking. The area feels very safe. I’ve stayed here multiple times when visiting the area. The employees are friendly. The rooms are very clean, beds are very comfortable, as well as the linens. The pool area looks very well kept although we did not use it. The extra bonus is the breakfast. Over the course of the two mornings we were there we enjoyed cheese omelettes, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, fried potatoes, sausage links, crispy bacon. The offerings vary each morning. There are also waffle makers, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries. I definitely recommend this property for a very comfortable stay, and a very good breakfast.

Rusty hand rail, paint peeling and badly repaired kn the tub, hairs in the bed

Hotel was nice enough but immediately upon walking into our room, it smelled kind of like sweaty laundry & not the usual clean smell when you first walk into a hotel room. All the linens (bath towels, sheets, and pillowcases) just had a dirty laundry smell. The cabinet of the refrigerator was covered with dust, very visible all around the refrigerator. The bathroom sink had a red ring around the drain that easily wipes off, so it did not look like the sink had been wiped in a while. Had we been spending more time at the hotel, I probably would've asked for a different room.

Comfortable, clean, plenty of parking. Staff friendly and efficient. Good breakfast. Glad to see eco-friendly plates at breakfast but distressed by the styrofoam cups for coffee and juice.

Very relaxing stay.The staff was great!!

The Service was absolutely exceelent I didnt have to search for someone when I had a question or Concern and I left my ID at the front desk and they immediately called the room to tell me. I would 100% Reccomend this hotel to everyone

The place was completely run down. My shower was covered in mold.
