Very well located for the train station & buses into Montreux . The Riviera tourist travel card given at reception was a bonus to enable us to travel around for free up until the early hours . The hotel itself is nice, clean & comfortable. The roof top bar wasn’t open but we made use of the spa facilities instead . No kettle in the room though which would’ve been appreciated but there’s a Starbucks opposite so that solved that . Veyvey itself has a good vibe with a variety of shops & places to eat . The lake is a short walk from the hotel which has breathtaking views & a buzzy ambience during market day with people generally enjoying themselves . We particularly found the improvised beach with deck chairs charming& the little sandwich bar with its pier seating adorable . A lovely place to visit for sure.

Conveniently located right outside the train station. Very spacious room, with two sinks in the bathroom good for morning time when the family can brush teeth together if in a hurry. Will be perfect if adding a door for the shower and toilet.

Great location, close to the lake, shopping and restaurants. Parking involved a car lift, which was an adventure! Roof bar, gym and hot tub was out of order or under renovation it seemed, although we didn’t have time to really use it anyway. Great hotel to explore Vevey.

Stay was excellent. I note though there tends to be some older guests like us...thus, in the btahrooms more rails are needed and for those of us who like a shower you should be provided with a rubber bath mat so you don't slip.

Such a lovely hotel, we arrived early before check in time and our room was ready for us. Communication was brilliant before arrival. Local transport tickets were perfect for visiting Vevey and Montreux area. Lovely, clean rooms and really close to the train station and bus stops

The hotel is very convenient for travelling without a car, it is near the railway station and local buses. Travel on local buses is free with a card provided by the hotel, this included the tickets for the Furnicular railway, providing great views of Lac Leman. Our room is spacious and clean. Despite being very central the hotel is quiet. Its just a couple of minutes to the lake.

What a wonderful stay!! I was pleasantly surprised. I will say the comments from everyone were correct and helped with me to choose this property. It was my first trip to Vevey so i was very skeptical. I am a Hilton/Marriott member and was scared to death. Now I will NOT stay anywhere else but at Astra. the location is PERFECT especially if you will ride the train. The rooms will be beyond clean!! I am a germ-phob and I couldn't find anything to complain about LOL. Great stay if you are from the U.S. and looking for the comforts of home this is the place. Same as a Hilton. I did upgrade my room to a bigger room but that was just because i knew ahead of time that overseas rooms tend to run on the smaller side. Book it you wont be upset.

We liked the inside parking, hopefully that eventually becomes an expedia vip perk (as its quite expensive, free parking for vip would be awesome). The restaurant below was nice, the hot tub is great. The photos of the lake views from the room are quite exaggerated, the sauna wasnt on while wenwere there, but the location is perfect.

I am coming to this hotel on a regular basis for 4 years now and for business purpose. This hotel is ideally located in from of the train station, rooms are comfortable and clean. I had to complain several times for the cleanliness of the glasses provided in the room. Some months ago, I went down to the front desk and brought a glass, the manager on duty was almost shocked that I was complaining for this. This time the glasses were not only having drying spots, they were really like "oily*. On my way for dinner I showed this glasses to the front desk, there the clerk told me please show this to my boss she is right now at the restaurant. What I did, and the reaction of this woman was really surprising "I do not allow you to approach me like this"!!!!! No sense of customer satisfaction at all. The I had my dinner with a welcome drink (offered by the hotel), a glass of white wine. I choose my dish, a fish, I ordered then a mother glass of white wine. I have got the fish but no wine at all. I tried to raise the attention of the (old) waiter but he didn't react. When I finished, he finally came back and asked if all was ok, then I answered "I haven't got my white wine", he answered " I forgot it", the I asked for the bill, 3 minutes later he came back with it. I could read 2 glasses of white wine... I asked him Why this???? his answer was "I brought them to you"!!!! I had to claim loudly to get reason. This is totally not acceptable for such an hotel!!!! see picture.

We booked a studio room with kitchenette. There were hardly any supplies (no cups, no glasses, no kitchen knife, …) and the equipment that was there was still dirty (coffee stains, food rests, ..). There was no detergent to even clean any of the dirty stuff ourselves. Apart from that the hotel was okay but quite outdated and the facilities that made the hotel look attractive (roof top bar, spa) were closed. Rather disappointing stay given the high price we paid.

The hotel is located right in front of the train station which is very convenient. From the room, I couldn’t hear the trains or the traffic outside, so you don’t need to worry about the noise. The room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom although it was a bit old school was also clean. The staff at the reception was welcoming and helpful. Overall, I had a good stay

Overall we were very happy with our stay. The location is very convenient across from the train station and a short walk from the lake. The staff is friendly and helpful, the air conditioning in the room worked perfectly, and the buffet breakfast in the historic dining room was above and beyond expectation. A few little comments for improvement would be that there were only two pillows in the room both of which were so worn down that it was almost like not having one. They were very accommodating and provided two additional pillows upon our request, but those were not in good shape either, which made the stay a little less comfortable. The mattress however was very comfortable! There was a muted buzzing sound that happened about every five minutes seeming to be just outside the room - but we got used to it. Not sure what could be done about that… Lastly my husband was looking forward to using the fitness room, but some of the equipment was out of order and there were just two light free weights. With a little attention it could be much improved. One more note that we were traveling with our small dog and found the hotel accommodating in that regard. Thank you!

Nice family room. They have 2 bathrooms. Although quite old bathroom but very clean. Breakfast has enough varieties and nice quality food. Staff in restaurant during breakfast are very friendly especially for the lady that was there on xmas morning. Location perfect just in front of train station but still very quite. Lovely view from our room.
