    The closure of the hotel, due to structural problems, is sad for Chester (as hotel is an integral part of City) and sad for loyal staff.Hotel is a little dated but facilities are still OK.Cooked breakfast extra but continental ok.Whatever will happen to multitude of excellent fittings when it closes. Grosvenor Estate hope to open it again but work etc will take years.

    Great hotel in a fantastic location in Chester. Although this hotel is quite old it has a lovely feel about it. The continental breakfast is excellent and staff are very attentive.

    Lovely hotel, like stepping back in time. Great character, wonderful staff and plentiful afternoon tea. Hope they retain the character of the hotel during its refurbishement

    The plumbing was a joke and then we found out the hotel is having to close due to major problems. Would have been nice to know this info before booking!
