Its location, lovely views and quiet though close to Kielder forest. Lovely owner.
Our fault really, didn’t check the sleeping arrangements. Though it sleeps eight, this is in a set of four bunks either side of a landing which is accessed via a set of quite steep stairs. For someone with mobility issues this would be a problem, especially as the only toilet is down stairs. If you managed to pull your suitcase up the stairs there is no storage areas.

Location was ideal for us (we spent most of our time in the Kielder Forest only a short drive away) and quite isolated so very peaceful. There are stunning views over the surrounding countryside. We had a clear night on our stay with the sunset and night skies truly spectacular.
The hosts Claire and Rob were very friendly and informative, the accommodation was spotlessly clean and everything that we needed was provided. Bunks were comfortable and the heating system is very effective keeping us nice and cosy as the temperature dropped at night. Our granddaughter especially enjoyed sitting round the firepit in the evening.
The bothies are situated in a large area of land and well distanced form each other so you hardly notice them.
The weather!

Relaxing view! But easy to find. Could have stayed longer!
None at all

The bothy was well designed, the site and location were lovely and we loved the use of biomass for heating and water. Claire, Rob and the dogs were brilliant hosts.
The only thing was that we didn’t get a lot of sleep as once someone moved through the night, the bothy creaked and we were all up! This was even just moving in the bed. Ear plugs will be brought next time. Also, if there were 8 of us staying then there aren’t sufficient “comfy seats” for everyone which is a consideration.

The location was absolutely stunning. Luckily the weather was great and we spent a lot of time outside with beautiful views. The communication and hospitality were also faultless with the hosts just a message away.
There really wasn't much at all though with two young girls and an elderly lady in our party they did struggle with the steepness of the stairs.

We loved everything about the accommodation. Hosts were lovely and their dogs are so well behaved. The kids loved having 4 little doggies coming to pay a visit every so often.

Clean, warm and everything you need already supplied - perfect. Great views and outdoor space for kids too. Hosts were very helpful and friendly too.

we booked a late stay here, the location is fabulous, out of the way but close enough to Bellingham with pubs, shops etc. the best things were the views, it was lovely sitting watching the sun go down. the accommodation was toasty warm and the bed was really comfy
there’s nothing not to like, they have everything you need. my top tip would be to bring camping chairs, we never and ended up buying some from the garage in Bellingham
