We had a lovely very comfortable stay in this spacious house. Owner was very helpful. It is in the middle of nowhere but we enjoyed a couple of lovely walks straight from the doorstep. If you want to visit the observatory at Kielder - book in advance! Also recommend Redesdale Arms (10 min drive) for a lovely meal. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Was a fantastic cottage to get away to for all 10 of us and dog. Garden enclosed which was great and he met the owners dogs which he loved. Was ideal just to get away with family for a much needed break. Lovely welcome pack and lovely rooms. Thank you. Plenty of walking routes nearby which we didn't do this time as just needed to chill

It is a really lovely house in a delightful secret garden and we had a wonderful family holiday despite the fact that it was the wettest week of August. We had a bad journey getting there because roads were flooded and we were turned back twice by police and Highways Agency patrols. Bad luck. The members of the family who came from the west on the A68 were luckier. The countryside around is stunning. The drawback is that it takes an hour's driving to reach anywhere for the children: Alnwick Castle, Beamish Open Air Museum, Vindalanda Roman Museum, Hexham Abbey and Cragside National Trust. The coast is a little further again. And you had to be highly organised with the catering - menus and shopping ahead. Sainsbury's delivered our on line order on Sunday which was great. The owner was very welcoming and if you love a secluded country holiday surrounded by scenic splendour this is a perfect place.

We had a lovely week in this beautiful old building that’s full of character and comfort! Shops and restaurants etc are a drive away but located on a good main road. Would recommend this to larger family’s and groups looking for space and beautiful quiet location.

We all enjoyed our holiday in Northumberland. Our host was very friendly, the house was spotlessly clean and tidy, lots of kitchen equipment and an excellent location in Kielder Forest - ideal for walks and would have been ideal for star-gazing had the cloud ever cleared! I ticked 9/10 for local amenities because this depends on what you want. It is in a very rural area but there are restaurants and a small local shop only a short drive away. We had to travel further for a large supermarket and for fuel. But if you are prepared for this it is fine and would not be the peaceful rural location it is if there were too many amenities nearby. A very large house with character (the photos don't show how big the rooms are) making it excellent for large groups, but it is a little 'tired'.
