About this cabin rental

Romantic cabin on a mountain lake. We are near Chimney Rock, Asheville and The Biltmore House. Please note that the town has lowered the lake and there will be construction equipment at the lakebed removing sediment. We are only 1/4 mile from the site where the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed. We are only 18 miles from the new Tryon International Equestrian Resort. Our cozy one bedroom log cabin is built for couples and has a hot tub. We are located in the Town of Lake Lure and only one mile south of the charming mountain Village of Chimney Rock, NC. For no extra cost we have canoes, horse shoes, private fishing ponds, and a dock on beautiful Lake Lure. All set in a natural landscape with diverse flora and fauna. Plus, only a short distance away you will find the Lake Lure Beach and Marina, Historic Lake Lure Inn, Restaurants, Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure Tour Boats, horseback riding, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, tennis courts, Chimney Rock Village and fly fishing on the Rocky Broad River! Also in Lake Lure you will find two championship golf courses and a municipal nine-hole golf course.

The cabin was stocked as stated. I was disappointed with the lack of view of the lake compared to the picture. Aware of the extreme heat outside but the cool air just can’t seem to make it to the bedroom. The ac split system was in the den (opposite end of the cabin). The floors were not clean as there was even dog food on the floor beside the couch. The pots and pans and cookie sheet definitely had not be cleaned in awhile. It is very quiet and loved that!!! We will definitely give it another try.

The owls nest cabin in pine gables was perfect for what we needed. My husband and I went to lake lure to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. The cabin was small but cozy and the hot tub on the deck was a lovely feature. It is close to chimney rock and lake lure. We will definitely be back!

The checkin was easy. It is a very quiet place to relax. Cabin had everything we needed. Only 2 compliants 1. It needed a little more cleaning, bath n bedroom had an odor. 2. No Lake view for all the trees. I love trees but was expecting a view of the lake from the cabin. We had our little dog with us and had no issues. Great little place for her to walk around.

The place was so cute. I loved the screened in porch, the hot tube was perefect, it was so quite and dark at night, and the bed was comfortable. The field on the property was perfect for my dog to play ball and run. Thanks.

My sister and I stayed here to attend the Dirty Dancing Festival nearby. The cabin was perfect! So comfortable, had everything we needed and more. The screened in porch by the water was lovely. I can’t wait to come back with my husband and pups!

The cabin was perfect for two people. The location was fantastic, right on the lake with kayaks in canoes readily available. Available. The inside was spotless and had everything we needed. Plus, it was right in the middle of everything. I would absolutely stay again.

Lovely cabin. I especially enjoyed sitting on the porch and having a meal and a cup of tea. Only problem for me: the climb down to the dock is very treacherous and the dock and ladder should be replaced for safety.

We wish we'd had longer to stay. We loved the peace and quiet. We loved the simple comforts of the cabin. We loved the bed, the rugs, the hot tub towels, and especially the porch! What a lovely view with comfortable seats and of course, the hot tub for two. We were plenty close to the town square of Lake Lure and to Chimney Rock. We had a wonderful weekend and will be back.

Me and my husband just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Owls Nest Cabin. We had a great time while there. A few things that bothered us, shower floor was disgusting, much dust around. The description of the cabin said view of Lake Lure, however you are on a cove and all we saw was little water and a lot of mucky sand. Cabin is in a good location, convenient to restaurants, hiking trails.

This place was one of our favorite visits ever. We were there to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. The accommodations were clean and perfect for the two of us. The bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever had at a vacation rental. The area is beautiful! We hiked all day in Chimney Rock on Friday. We visited Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery in town. You can stick your toes in the water and enjoy a cold beer while you’re at it. We biked on the Thermal Bike Trail on Saturday and floated on the lake just outside the property in late afternoon. We ate at La Strada for dinner. Amazing marinara!!! Yum! I walked out to the lake each morning to have my coffee. The view is stunning! We ate at Medina’s for breakfast before we left on Sunday. The locals are so nice abs welcoming. I can’t say enough about this mini vacay. We didn’t want to leave!

We had a fantastic time at the cabin on Lake Lure! This place is definitely a hidden gem. The cabin was cute, clean, and the location was very convenient. There were a lot of great touches like dog bowls and toys for our Irish Setter. We loved having access to the grill and the hot tub, and we enjoyed taking the canoe out for a spin. Jim was very responsive to questions and check-in was simple and easy. The cabin exceeded all of our expectations and we would highly recommend it. We will certainly be back! :)

The property was not as advertised. Couldn't see lake due to growth of trees and weeds. Walked to dock that was rotten. We were scared to even use. Outside of cabin needs up dated. We wasted our weekend. Had to find a new place to stay and went home early.
