About this cabin rental
Hurricane Helene Update: Our cabins are in good shape. Our lakefront and first pond have been damaged and will need to be repaired. The construction at our lakefront to remove sediment from the lake from Hurricane Helene has finished! We are very grateful for the work the Corps of Engineers and their subcontractors have done, but we are equally happy that the Beep! Beep! and engine noise have stopped. The lake will remain lowered until Spring, but that happens many years anyway. Our cozy romantic cabins are now peaceful all day. Romantic cabin overlooking one of our private ponds. We are near Chimney Rock, Asheville and The Biltmore House. We are only 1/4 mile from the site where the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed. We are only 18 miles from the new Tryon International Equestrian Resort. Our cozy one bedroom log cabin is built for couples and has a hot tub. We are located in the Town of Lake Lure and only one mile south of the charming mountain Village of Chimney Rock, NC. For no extra cost we have canoes, horse shoes, private fishing ponds, and a dock on beautiful Lake Lure. All set in a natural landscape with diverse flora and fauna. Plus, only a short distance away you will find the Lake Lure Beach and Marina, Historic Lake Lure Inn, Restaurants, Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure Tour Boats, horseback riding, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, tennis courts, Chimney Rock Village and fly fishing on the Rocky Broad River! Also in Lake Lure you will find two championship golf courses and a municipal nine-hole golf course.

We had 2 peaceful nights here, was able to catch fish in the pond even being mid-November. The cabin was clean and inviting. This was our second time staying and we plan on coming back to it again

We enjoyed the location of the cabin, just wished it had been cleaner inside. Incredible amounts of dust, especially on walls, curtains and top shelfs, months worth of dust accumulation .It's a great little getaway, with lots of nature around. We were even visited by a huge bear. We will return to Pine Gables again. We did not contact the owners to complain about the cleanliness, but, I want to be fair in my review. Maybe the owners could personally visit the cabin and see for themselves and address it with housekeeping. I suggest they lie down on the bed and look up at the curtains for a reference. It was very peaceful, and the grounds are amazing. The canoes that were provided were great. Thank you for letting us stay at the Duck Pond cabin.
