Waterfront Retreat on Main St in the Heart of Chimney Rock Village

It was our 39th anniversary. The wife wanted to stay somewhere we could walk to shops, food, etc. This couldn’t have been a better location! We had a blast! (for two older people) Great all-around experience, and this home was a great base camp.

We loved the location and the furniture was beautiful. Also the beds are very comfortable! The floors were a bit dirty causing the bottom of our feet to be black. Also could use a bit more cook wear ( there was no cookie sheet) for the people who like to cook. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will be back soon!

Very nice and spacious apartment. Quiet settings but so close to everything in town. We appreciated the friendliness and cordial welcome of the apartment managers who made our stay enjoyable and we definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet place with plenty of room for several people. Chimney Rock Village and Chimney Rock are good places to visit and enjoy small town ambience.

We had a wonderful trip at Chimney Rock. This property is located at the base of the rock with an amazing view of rock above and river below. I enjoyed opening the back door in the mornings and listening to the river. House was clean. Parking - Is directly in front on main street so while they do try to "hold" your designated spot with orange cones, it's not always available to you. It's also not very clear where to park when you arrive. The host was responsive and helpful. Riverwatch Gift Shop is on the 1st floor and this property is on the 2nd floor. Riverwatch Bar and Grill is located next door. We ate at the grill the 1st night, food was yummy & service was great. Just note it's soooo close you can smell burgers and fries being cooked all day and night. You can also hear employees conversations below you from inside the gift shop and by the side grill entrance. The smell and lack of privacy were draw backs of this property for us.

Pictures do not do this apartment justice. It was amazing being in the heart of CR village, sitting on the decks & enjoying the views! Check in was simple & very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

This property was perfect, we were right in the center of town with so many options to dine, shop or just look around! We come to Chimney Rock at least twice a year, we usually stay outside of town, thought we would try something different, and we were so glad we did! The hosts are super responsive, they made everything so easy from check in to check out. A big plus- you never have to get in your car after you arrive if you don't want to! Everything is right there! The apartment is gorgeous! Everything we needed and more. Very comfortable all around. So much bigger than the pictures, and both decks were awesome. The view from the back deck could not be better, you can just about touch Chimney Rock! Both bedrooms had beautiful views of Chimney Rock and walk outs to the deck. Definitely will be back! We had so much fun! Awesome mother and daughter's trip!

Located steps from local shops and restaurants. Views of the river, Chimney Rock and downtown. 10/10 would recommend!!

The perfect view and close to everything. The beds were comfortable and linens and towels were provided. My kids loved the arcade game! We plan to come back again.

Stayed here for Christmas weekend and we had a great time! The house was exactly as listed. Great location, clean, and comfortable. Had great views both in the back and front porch. But the view from the back porch was great and you could here the river from the porch. Will definitely make this to a annual visit! Definitely recommend this house!!

If you are looking for a relaxing, not so busy vacation- visit Chimney Rock in December! My husband and I stayed here over a weekend to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary! The apartment was everything we could have hoped for. We enjoyed the back balcony with the view of the creek and of Chimney Rock and the front balcony looking over the village. We ate dinner both nights at Riverwatch right next door. Fantastic food and the best staff!The gift shop right below the apartment was so cute, and the lady that works there is so nice and welcoming. We will for sure be back to visit Chimney Rock and stay at this apartment! We both voted that this was probably one of our favorite trips. I honestly can not say enough good things about this place.

The wife and I stayed here for a relaxing anniversary weekend. The communication and helpfulness of the property manager/owner made everything easy and stress-free. The location is perfect, being in the middle of Chimney Rock's shops and restaurants. It allowed us to walk to nearly everything we were drawn to do. The place is clean and well kempt.

If you want to be close to everything that is great about the Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area, this is the place to be. Restaurants, taverns, unique gift shops and more are all within easy walking distance. The apartment is clean, well appointed and the owners have gone the extra mile to provide all the little extras that make for a wonderful stay. People watching on the front deck and river viewing on the back deck was great. Having the managers right next door is a plus for sure and these young people are fantastic! We have stayed at a lot of places in the area and this one ranks amongst the best for us. Hats off to the owners for a job well done!

We had a wonderful time at Waterfront retreat. The apartment was clean and decorated nice. The view from the back deck was amazing. Front deck was nice also with street view. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants including winery and brewery. Will definitely stay again.

We loved this unique apartment amidst the hustle and bustle of Chimney Rock village. The front deck was excellent for people watching and we enjoyed looking at license plates driving by and seeing where everyone was from. The back deck was great for relaxing and listening to the river. We cannot wait to return. The owners were extremely helpful. The kitchen was full of everything you need to prepare meals, including spices. There were tons of extra toilet paper, bath towels, blankets, pillows, etc. I will say it again, we cannot wait to return.

Perfect location! Modern and well-appointed, super clean with easy access. Met the owner’s (adult) kids and they couldn’t have been nicer. This place will go on my “Return and Recommend” list.

We've been coming to Chimney Rock for almost 20 years and know the area well. It was a great experience to stay right in town. Yes, things close early, but it's just something to plan for and there's so much to do even within a 30 minute drive of the area. We spent a lot of time in the water, which was easy to access from the apartment. The apartment itself served our needs well. There were a few things that, given the cost of our trip, I would have expected to be a little bit different. There were only 3 washcloths; not a huge deal--but it did mean I washed them with other laundry every day. The closet in the right bedroom is unfinished and unusable. There's a bee/wasp issue on the back deck--which is an ideal location to sit and relax, but not at the risk of being stung [we have a family member with a bee allergy, which makes this more than an annoyance]. Would this keep me from staying again? Not really. It's a beautiful place in a great location. Lots of lovely touches, but it could use a little bit of attention to a few areas.

We planned a girls weekend trip & we couldn’t have picked a better place! Everything was within walking distance. The place was very spacious & clean. The views were AMAZING! We enjoyed listening to the sounds of the River on the back porch…so peaceful! The host was awesome & prompt with communication. I am booking a trip there already for my husband & I in the fall! 5/5 stars!

It was exactly as expected (perfect) the view from the front deck was great loved people watching. The town is like a ghost town after 530 wish there was more if a night life to walk to and enjoy after 5. Being able to see chimney rock from the back deck was great (cant believe i made it to the top of that) and the sound of the water was great. Beds were soft, had everything you needed. Host was wonderful. The people in the town were so nice. We would definitely go back, if you want a boat rental around the 4th of July book it before you get there. Check out the chili dogs next door at the riverwatch it looked great. All the food look great. Just plan to go early as they all close early. We didn't get to have one...disappointing. im still thinking about it lol Overall it was a great, clean place. We were very pleased

We enjoyed staying in the village and enjoying the front and back balcony views. Would like a king bed in at least one of the rooms, but otherwise all was wonderful and we look forward to our next visit.

We loved the location of the property and enjoyed all the local places surrounding it. Great place for our family to enjoy hiking, horseback riding and a beautiful drive into Asheville.

Perfect place for our weekend getaway. The location is ideal and the condo had everything we needed. The view of Chimney Rock on the back deck was great and there was comfortable furniture to sit, relax, and enjoy the sound of the Rocky Broad River. It was so peaceful. Highly recommend this rental.

The town is quaint and rustic. This apartment has the best view! Riverwater sound is so peaceful at night amd the view of the stars is magical! Everyone is so nice! Rhe only change I would make is a partition between the restaurant and thw stair entryway to the apartment. We have already recommended this property to friends!

Good experience overall. Didn’t like going up greasy stairs and smelling (and seeing) grease from the restaurant next door. Had trouble with keypad and outside motion lights. Some unstable floor issues. Host was nice and helpful. Loved being close to restaurants and shopping.

The property is in the perfect location. It was larger than it looks on the pictures so plenty of room for us to feel at home. Situated in the heart of Chimney Rock Village. Walking distance to food & shopping. Just next door is good burgers at Riverwatch, to the right, the unexpected bonus of the Chimney Rock Harley Davidson store as we brought our bike for the rides in the area. The Riverwalk access just steps away & visible from the back porch. Our evenings were made by sitting on the back porch listening to the soothing sound of the river & our mornings made by the gorgeous view of Chimney Rock right in front of us. The front porch was great for eating lunch and people watching. The water pressure was spot on & the vintage feel of the apartment was wonderful. We slept very well on the the comfy bed. The minute we walked in, we knew we found "our spot" whenever we stay in this area. Shelly and Ben were absolutely awesome and super friendly. We definitely felt welcomed and enjoyed our time there & are already planning to come back with our adult children for them to experience what a memorable 51st birthday I had!!

This was our second stay in Chimney Rock and this location was the best so far! It is so conveniently located to all of the shops and restaurants. The view off the back deck was AMAZING! It has perfect views of Chimney Rock and the adjacent cliffs. We sat out back and enjoyed a beer in the evenings and ate our breakfast and drank coffee out there in the morning. Very relaxing out back. We also enjoyed the front porch and it was perfect for people watching. The house was very nicely remodeled and very organized and clean overall. The main complaint that I would have about this property would be the parking situation. There is no designated spot for the property and during the day it was impossible to find a spot close to the house. We ended up parking on the side of the street quite a ways away and walking back. It really wasn't that bad but it would be nice if there was a reserved spot to park. This situation was the worst when we checked in because we couldn't unload our luggage because we weren't close to the property. I had to move the car later when the traffic had died down and unloaded then. Checking out wasn't an issue because I had moved the car in front of the house Saturday night when there were no cars. This minor complaint will definitely not stop us from renting this property again and in fact, we already plan on reserving it again for next year! The convenient location and the amazing views out back make this a great place to stay and enjoy Chimney Rock!! We can't wait to come back!!

We had a blast!! The unit is great but the location is amazing. Downtown, walking distance to everything and the parking spot is so helpful. You can see Chimney Rock from the spacious back porch and the front porch overlooks the downtown street. Highly recommend especially if you enjoy hiking during the day and enjoying restaurants, wineries, and breweries in the evening.

We had a great time at Chimney Rock Village. The location of the property is perfect and everything inside was beautifully decorated and cozy. We highly recommend to stay there.
