We absolutely loved our time at Fotinos Houses in Oia. The cave house was cool and airy—simple, comfortable, and full of character. The shaded yard opened onto a terrace with a truly spectacular view, perfect for watching the famous Santorini sunset in peace, away from the crowds.
The air conditioning was a lifesaver during the hottest parts of the day, and the small kitchen was just right for making morning coffee and cooking simple meals. And the bathroom with its lovely shower in the cave was brilliant.
What really made our stay special was Ioanna, our wonderful host. She was so kind—cleaning the apartment daily, with fresh sun-dried towels, crisp sheets, and even treating us to Greek coffee and homemade biscuits and spinach and cheese pastries to welcome us. And she told us about her personal connection to the house. And - if you love cats - then there's a beautiful black one who comes to visit every day.
A sharp knife would have been a great addition for those who like to cook. Also, the guests in the apartment above us tended to take over this apartment's small lookout point for the sunset, even though there were other spots they could use. These are just minor points, though. One thing to note: Oia involves some steep, strenuous walking, so it’s important to pace yourself, especially during the heat. Lastly, be prepared to deal with Instagram influencers who might try to take photos from your terrace, ignoring the 'private' and 'keep out' signs."

Staying in this room in Oia felt like fairytale for a couple of days. It was a nice sized studio, and we especially appreciated having a table to sit at. We did not realize that it was really in the middle of the cliff and so close to all the shops and sights! It was great to have a place to retreat from the hot sun multiple times a day and still enjoy the view. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we appreciated that it already had dishsoap for example. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating as well.
It was a bit difficult to find and get to with our suitcases! We should have had the host meet us at the bus stop and have someone help us carry the suitcases. The walkway is a bit too bumpy for suitcase wheels, but we did manage. On the way out, they arranged for someone to help us carry the suitcases to a less bumpy part.

Absolument merveilleux!! Nous étions dans le « cave house » et c’est appartement est tout simplement génial. Il donne accès à un balcon privé sur le toit de l’appartement qui donne une vue sur la caldera et une vue sans obstruction sur le coucher de soleil. Pendant que tous les touristes cherchent une endroit pour admirer le coucher de soleil, nous pouvions le regarder dans le calme, sans aucun touriste près de nous. Seulement pour cela, le prix est totalement justifié!
Sinon, l’appartement est très grand, frais (et l’air climatisé fonctionne très bien), la salle de bain très fonctionnelle et la cuisine (bien que petite) nous a permis de cuisiner tous les soirs de petits repas simples (car les restos à Oia sont très chers). Toutefois pour nous c’était le meilleur des mondes, nous cuisinions des repas faciles et pouvions les manger sur notre balcon privé avec une vue merveilleuse! Rien à envier des terrasses des restaurants!
Enfin, les hôtes ont été très disponibles, chaleureux et généreux! Ils nous ont même offerts des desserts grecs en cadeaux. Le ménage était fait tout les jours et était impeccable.
Si vous hésitez à savoir si cela vaut la peine de payer un peu plus cher pour avoir cet hébergement, la réponse est oui! Nous hésitions et finalement nous n’avons absolument pas regretté, cet appartement vaut absolument le prix! Je le conseille absolument à tous! J’ai joins des photos du balcon privé et de l’entrée privée pour accéder a l’appartement.
