The perfect blend of charm, comfort, and breathtaking views, making our stay in Santorini special.

We absolutely loved our time at Fotinos Houses in Oia. The cave house was cool and airy—simple, comfortable, and full of character. The shaded yard opened onto a terrace with a truly spectacular view, perfect for watching the famous Santorini sunset in peace, away from the crowds. The air conditioning was a lifesaver during the hottest parts of the day, and the small kitchen was just right for making morning coffee and cooking simple meals. And the bathroom with its lovely shower in the cave was brilliant. What really made our stay special was Ioanna, our wonderful host. She was so kind—cleaning the apartment daily, with fresh sun-dried towels, crisp sheets, and even treating us to Greek coffee and homemade biscuits and spinach and cheese pastries to welcome us. And she told us about her personal connection to the house. And - if you love cats - then there's a beautiful black one who comes to visit every day.

A sharp knife would have been a great addition for those who like to cook. Also, the guests in the apartment above us tended to take over this apartment's small lookout point for the sunset, even though there were other spots they could use. These are just minor points, though. One thing to note: Oia involves some steep, strenuous walking, so it’s important to pace yourself, especially during the heat. Lastly, be prepared to deal with Instagram influencers who might try to take photos from your terrace, ignoring the 'private' and 'keep out' signs."

Magical stay in a comfortable studio in the middle of the scenic cliff

Staying in this room in Oia felt like fairytale for a couple of days. It was a nice sized studio, and we especially appreciated having a table to sit at. We did not realize that it was really in the middle of the cliff and so close to all the shops and sights! It was great to have a place to retreat from the hot sun multiple times a day and still enjoy the view. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we appreciated that it already had dishsoap for example. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating as well.

It was a bit difficult to find and get to with our suitcases! We should have had the host meet us at the bus stop and have someone help us carry the suitcases. The walkway is a bit too bumpy for suitcase wheels, but we did manage. On the way out, they arranged for someone to help us carry the suitcases to a less bumpy part.

It was good but you have to getb used to the tousts from the cruise ships invading the place.

The cave room was very atmospheric. Hosts were great. The special viewing spot is ok for most of the sunset but due to the numbers you can't see the final "plop" as there are so many people standing on walls etc they block out the view

It gets very hot there. The white houses are spectacular but they reflect the sun making it even hotter. The closest beach was shut.

Gorgeous view, romantic

Incredibly cute, amazing view & wonderful owners. Its very romantic and perfect for a nice getaway. The bed was firm and I got such great sleep!

We would have preferred if the balcony was able to be reserved just for us & not have other tourists flood the front. There was a place reserved for us to sit, but it was a little scary to sit up there. The tourists wouldn’t clear out till very late, it was quite annoying but not at all the fault of the owners.

Cave house is a unique experience.

This cave house overlooking the caldera is very unique. The door and a window in the front are the only openings. A small area in front of the door has a table and chairs. One must go out onto the walkway to get a full view of the caldera. Very clean. Spacious. Well furnished. Large tiled bathroom with good working shower. The owners are extremely cordial and helpful. Be aware that you will have to park your car in a lot quite some distance from the property, and then walk up and down cobbled steps to get to the cave house. Very difficult with bags. Mr. Fotino arranged a porter to take our bags back to our car when we left. Very helpful! If you are not in good physical condition, the caldera steps may prove beyond your ability. See Santorini by cruise ship instead.

Like most places in Greece, internet is very poor. In the cave house, internet is almost non-existent. We were able to get some connection outside. Inside, even if we sat in chairs by the door, the connection would not hold. Two words about Santorini in August, "Don't go"!. About an hour before sunset, crowds begin to form on the walkways. They hang over the concrete barriers and sit on the roofs. No masks could be seen during the peak of COVID. This felt very risky for us as we were caught in the crush on the way back from the market at the bus station.

Amazing spot for a romantic couple

You really don’t want to miss this little apartment, full of any comfort. The little kitchen is perfect for breakfast, the bathroom has a beautiful shower that can be used by two people at the same time. It has air conditioning. But the most amazing thing is the beautiful view that you have outside. You can sit at the little blue table and enjoy the view. The owner has been very polite and helped us to rent a motorcycle. Very near to the apartment you can find a little shop for your little necessities. If you like cats, you will find plenty 😉

Sorry to say, we found a towel dirty with some stains ( probably old blood ).

Fabuleux! Balcon privé avec vue magnifique sur le coucher du soleil!

Absolument merveilleux!! Nous étions dans le « cave house » et c’est appartement est tout simplement génial. Il donne accès à un balcon privé sur le toit de l’appartement qui donne une vue sur la caldera et une vue sans obstruction sur le coucher de soleil. Pendant que tous les touristes cherchent une endroit pour admirer le coucher de soleil, nous pouvions le regarder dans le calme, sans aucun touriste près de nous. Seulement pour cela, le prix est totalement justifié! Sinon, l’appartement est très grand, frais (et l’air climatisé fonctionne très bien), la salle de bain très fonctionnelle et la cuisine (bien que petite) nous a permis de cuisiner tous les soirs de petits repas simples (car les restos à Oia sont très chers). Toutefois pour nous c’était le meilleur des mondes, nous cuisinions des repas faciles et pouvions les manger sur notre balcon privé avec une vue merveilleuse! Rien à envier des terrasses des restaurants! Enfin, les hôtes ont été très disponibles, chaleureux et généreux! Ils nous ont même offerts des desserts grecs en cadeaux. Le ménage était fait tout les jours et était impeccable. Si vous hésitez à savoir si cela vaut la peine de payer un peu plus cher pour avoir cet hébergement, la réponse est oui! Nous hésitions et finalement nous n’avons absolument pas regretté, cet appartement vaut absolument le prix! Je le conseille absolument à tous! J’ai joins des photos du balcon privé et de l’entrée privée pour accéder a l’appartement.
