Nice hotel but due to the lack of information very disappointed stay

Location, interior

Hotel was from 3th floor in the building where 3 floors were under construction. When we entered the building elevator was out of order and there was only sign Take the stairway. Not mentioned that we should go to the 3td floor. We had to call reception to ask direction. In the hotel was only one employee young receptionist and manager was on vacation. In the room we found information that due to reconstruction there will be noisy early morning. When we booked hotel there was no information about construction work and that hotel is on 3rd floor.

A clean and comfortable stay

The staff is very welcoming and everything feels clean and comfortable.

You can't make the room dark at night because curtains to do so are missing; only venetian blinds.

Wonderful A+!

I loved the old school decor, and the friendly staff. Also compliments on having very comfortable bedding. Most modern hotels have this plastic horrible bedding. This was just a dream to sleep in the bed. Location is absolutely great you can walk to and from the train station. There was a lovely flea market on the Square this morning when I woke up.

Not a big deal… I wanted there to be a safe in the room. There was a safe in the main closet, but it was free floating meaning if somebody wanted to walk off with the entire safe, they could. So they were just need to bolted down. Also, I would like the big enough to put a laptop computer in. This is not a big deal at all, but since I travel a lot, I decided to keep my valuables with me and walk around town with them. This is the only reason I gave it a nine and not a 10 😀

Superb

Great location in a former palace on the main square, so the Christmas market is right outside the door. Clean room with good wifi and the bathroom included a bath as well as a shower. Breakfast is served in a mirrored hall with chandeliers. Close to the Heiligengeistplatz which has bus connections to the airport and train station.

Very disappointing

If you gonna do reconstruction work, please don’t take any costumer. I had the worst night because there were construction work started at 6:30 AM ! And didn’t stop until I left at 11 am. It was basically next to my room. Trying to sleep while a jackhammer destroys the wall next door is impossible. The only thing the receptionist could say to me was « yeah sorry ». I get that the building need reparation but don’t take any costumer while doing it. Or try to not start that early. That was really unprofessional. And it is a lack of respect. Also, when I asked where I could take breakfast on a sunday (the day before) The receptionist proposed « McDonald ». I mean… I know I don’t speak the language so it could be hard to order but come on … McDonald ?! Please do better.

A unique hotel, housed in a 17th century mansion / palace, with many original features. Very ornate and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

The Porcia hotel is a portal to another dimension- time capsule, chic and rich!

Blue suite was very big, I loved the golden pipes and velvet divan. And silk wallpaper. Location is perfect, breakfast too- rich and full of choices. I loved the paintings all over the hotel.

Time capsule of luxuries past

Impossible to improve upon location with a reasonbly priced parking garage. Palace was renovated in the 70' / 80's and these improvements reflect the renovation style of that era, a true time capsule of the vision of luxury then. No Feng Shui here but heavily overloaded luxury (thats what you came for or should have) Pink marble bathrooms with golden trim etc. etc. Ivana Trump whould not have done it better, a bit like the Plaza in NYC.

Friendly but a bit dated hotel at a great location

Staffs were very nice and friendly and the location was great at the central of the city and close to public transportation (bus lines). I also liked breakfast. Good old fashioned hotel. Lots of history in it.

The room did not have enough electric plugs for multiple devise users. I needed to recharge my ipad, two iphones and Kindle at a bathroom socket one by one. Also the room had a refrigerator but it was not plugged and I could not reach a code but even if I found the cord I could find any socket to plug in, so it was no use.... The room was quite clean, but when I entered, it had strong smells of hair dressing product which stayed for the entire my stay. I hated it. I think cleaning staffs should not wear such a strongly smelling product.

Excellent and beautiful hotel for the value

The hotel is made like a palace. Very beautifully decorated inside and very comfortable. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking is next to the hotel and the hotel gave me a free voucher for the parking. Breakfast was delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. If I am back to Klagenfurt, I definitely will stay in this hotel. Very highly recommend this hotel.
