Kurhotel Sassnitz - das alte Seemannsheim

I adored the breakfast 😋 and the lovely lady who was in charge of it. I also loved the Broiler Bar in the hotel next door.

Mostly the location — it's just 3 minutes from the main railway station and the main bus station. There's also another bus stop nearby. The hotel faces the sea, and there are great food options close by.

Nice clean and bright rooms in brand new condition. Walking distance to train station and buses if you want to get to the ferry.

Elegant facade, walkable to town centre and harbour with extensive renovation work underway inside. Hotel restaurant was closed for operational reasons when we stayed. Many occupants seem to be shift workers, with lots of noise in corridors around 5-6 o’clock in mornings, even at weekends. 3rd floor windows are small and high up, some with nice sea views. Probably better views on second floor, with larger windows, depending on direction of room. Breakfast buffet varied, plentiful and fresh. No sweet pastries or cooked elements beyond scrambled eggs and saussages. Kur-hotel label is a misrepresentation as the sauna and pool are located in neigbouring hotel, (Hotel Rugen 50metres away). Towels are provided by the kur-hotel though. There are three saunas, 2 seemed to have defective thermostats when we visited July 2023. Sauna area is clean and was not much in use when we were there. Overall enjoyed our stay, but overpriced for actual service.
