Winton house home stay

The room I was given exactly the one in the picture, the bed was comfortable, I was given the instructions by the Host and the my room was Room C There was no information on using any other facilities like the kitchen or the shower

I booked a room for two nights. Upon arrival, I was assigned a room. Later that evening, I received multiple calls and messages from the host, Lisa, stating that I had been given the wrong room and needed to move. Upon my return, Lisa explained that the room had been mistakenly assigned to me, as another guest was due to check in for a "long stay." I agreed to move, but the new room was significantly smaller. The following morning, I encountered several issues: - Shower Problems: I waited approximately 45 minutes to use the shower, as another guest was occupying it. The shower had an old-style electric switch that was difficult to operate. I messaged Lisa for assistance but received no response. After managing to turn on the shower myself, the hot water only lasted for about five seconds before turning cold. ​ Confrontation Over Shower: Upon my return, Lisa’s husband confronted me, stating he was instructed to show me how to use the shower. I informed him that I had already managed, but the hot water was not working. I also mentioned the previous guest's excessive shower time (45 minutes). He admitted that it was him. ​ Kitchen Access Denied: While Lisa was showing a new guest (checking into room C) the facilities, I followed them, as I had not been shown the kitchen. Lisa’s husband physically blocked me from entering, stating I had "no rights" to use the kitchen. When I protested, pointing out that I had paid for two nights and should have access to the facilities, Lisa called the police, accusing me of assaulting her husband. ​ False Information: I spoke with the guest checking into room C, who informed me that he was only staying for one night, contradicting Lisa’s claim that the other guest was staying for a "long stay." ​ - Police Advice: Following these events, I contacted the police to report the incident and inquire about their arrival time.

Room only accommodation. Kind host. Shared bathroom which is not great but I knew that when I booked. The room was spotlessly clean.

I suppose being asked to take off my shoes on entering the house.

It was a pleasant stay with a quiet surroundings and easy to access for the price it was well worth it.

It’s in a quiet neighbourhood. Clean. My room did not have an en-suite.

Check in was sketchy. Need to inform the code for the key box for the property in advance to avoid anxiety.

Lisa is as great hosted!!

Unfortunately my room was next to the kitchen and they were working very early every morning with it woke me up every day at 6am so not enough sleep!!

The heating for the hot water wasn’t programmed to suit health works . Waking up to no hot water to bath before going to work

Tea/coffee in the room.

The bed was very firm and uncomfortable. The house wasn`t very clean and stank of curry.

I am a regualar stayer at this B&B, as usual Lisa gave excellent communication on how to check in, the location for me is perfect for my work and the Wi Fi is a good speed and reliable. The room is always cleam and fresh smelling.

As usual some of the other guests really do not know the meaning of being quiet during the night or prior to 6am.

Convenient location, room clean and comfortable

It was a family house, with Kitchen and lounge but for the family use only. First thing I noticed and infomred was the dirty bed sheet which the replaced. The worst thing was the electric shower which was either burning hot or freezing cold. It wouldn't stay on desired temperature it was changing itself. When informed them they said, that they are aware and informed somebody to come and fix. But for the 3 days stay no once came to fix.

I didnt like the fact that it was a family house, they could cook and you could smell the fish and other food all around the house, but the guest is not even allowed to make a fried egg for breakfast.

Instructions on how to enter the property were spot on. The house and room was very clean.

The parking on the street could have been a big problem as the property is right next to the school. The downstairs part of the house smelt of cat wee everyday. The room didn’t have a kettle / tea making factories. The mattress on the bed was beyond what a hard mattress is, like sleeping on wood resulting in a bad back at the end of the stay. The immersion boiler and pipes were in my room (double economy) so from 0430am expect to be woken up till very late. The shower goes from normal to cold or normal to scalding hot without warning. Other guests have little or no regard on how to close doors early morning to late night. The owner on my last night decided to tidy up and crash about till way past 2300pm which was unacceptable.

No breakfast included. Good location for where I needed to go.

Second time at this very nice property in a quiet and affluent area, short drive to the town centre, hope to stay again in the future.

Honestly nothing to fault.

I never it before 9, so I was busy preparing myself to check out at 10am. I slept well peacefully without disturbance. Accommodation was very good

Lovely owners .. very welcoming and helpful. Lovely big home in Nice quiet area. Good transport connections.

It just about did the job but kept getting woken up after trying to get some sleep. My single bed was a put up in the lounge I would not recommend this to anyone

The place was very clean and tidy. The host being friendly and welcoming was a bonus. I shall surely go back.

Bath tub would be a challenge to get in and out of for someone less mobile

A generously sized, comfortable room at a competitive price.

Not really a problem, but I didn't understand the setup. Was this a room in a private house, was it a hostel, or some kind of BnB (without breakfast ) ?
