B&B Civico 8

I booked this place because I was going to a concert in the amphitheatre. This B&B location was super convenient for this entrance to the concert and the ruins, on a side street just 3 or 4 minutes away. It is also around 6 or 7 minutes away from the Pompei Santuario station (line Napoli - Poggiomarino) and the Santuario square, filled with bars and shops. The B&B is in a flat in a building with regular neighbours. The entrance looks pretty old and I didn’t meet the host, but sent me instructions for getting the keys and even a video that explained it all. I was sceptic, but it worked well! I received some WhatsApp messages from the host asking if I had any problem or if there was any issue and I could reach the host with any question I had. The room was quite spacious, with a double bed, air conditioning, a TV (that I didn’t use), wi-fi, a chair, a desk, a rack for the clothes, a mirror, a fridge (super useful!), a coffee machine and a kettle. There was also some water and juice in the fridge, coffee pods, biscotti, pastries, jam, honey and chocolate spread. Enough for breakfast during my stay! The bathroom had a bidet, a shower and a hair dryer, with toiletries. Everything basic, but also worked very well. It was really clean and I had no problems. There was also a small balcony with a view to the patio, but I didn’t sat there. It was a novel arrangement for me, a room in a B&B in flat, in a residential block, but it worked well. Some people mentioned that they didn’t like that this was a flat in a neighbour community, but I had no issue and I could sleep OK. I would definitely go back and I recommend this place and the very attentive host.

On the negatives, mainly that the shower had a very very narrow entrance and I am not slim, but I could get in and out, albeit tightly. The paint was a bit scratched at the door inside and some plugs were a bit loose, but everything worked well, so not a problem. The entrance gate was a bit tricky to open, but I quickly learnt how to do it. All of it, of not much importance.

Very central location, comfortable bed and clean. The hosts went above and beyond to make us comfortable and gave us wonderful suggestions for breakfast. Only 5 min from the archaeological site. Fair price

We absolutely loved our stay at this guesthouse! It was an easy walk from the Pompei train station and perfectly located—just steps from a beautiful square with a cathedral, plenty of bars and restaurants, and within walking distance of the archaeological site. The room was spacious and spotless, with a big shower and a large balcony that was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Our host was wonderful and welcoming, adding thoughtful personal touches like croissants and cookies. Check-in was simple, and we really appreciated being able to leave our luggage after check-out while we visited the ruins. Everything about this stay exceeded our expectations—we highly recommend it and would definitely return!

Cleanliness of the place, we had a balcony BUT not a great view, glad it was only for one night

As only for a night, we didn't get to use the bath, which was huge UNLIKE THE SHOWER !! Even Kate Moss would have struggled to was in this! You needed to sit to the side of the toilet as being tall people, and our knees hit the shower cubicle. A safe would have been handy as well
