Worth staying in when in Abu Dhabi

MAGNIFICENT BUILDING. Hands down, it’s the most eye catching building in Abu Dhabi. Really spacious rooms and premises, buggy facilities, many activities to participate in. Delicious welcome cake at the room. Close to emirates palace, Qasr el Watan. Marina mall, at a 2’ walking distance.

The sun never shines at the adult pool. The towel system at the pool is a bit silly- and the towels themselves are tiny for their purpose. Sunbeds are stuck next to each other. No spa facilities (indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam bath etc)- only massages. The most negative issue though it’s that the 95% of the hotel guests are Russians with all inclusive packages that never leave the hotel premises

I was not happy at all after spending so much for 2 nights. Nothing was great 😌😌

Only thing I like was the rooms were quite spacious.

It was my first stay in Abu Dhabi for 2 nights and had a very bad experience. The staff was not aware of anything.They don’t have any entertainment in the evening whereas Rixos in RAK is excellent place to stay . I will never advise anyone to go Rixos Marina. Even the food was just average. I wish I could go anywhere else either in Fujairah or RAK.

Rooms are very good but massive let down with poor customer service

Location was very good, the hotel rooms were decent size.

The level of hospitality in relation to answering the phones was appalling. We had to ring multiple times to get through whether that be from the room or from the mobile. There were times we just gave up after 3/4 attempts, waiting over 5 minutes every time! 1 time we needed something urgently couriering across to us from the room and we had to go through the Spa's WhatsApp number to get through to reception. And when I complained at the reception desk on check-out, it was dismissed completely. I got a feeble apology but there was absolutely no remorse and I just had a lady at the desk give a wry smile. This is not the level of service I expect in the UAE and I will not be visiting the Rixos Marina again any time soon. It is such a shame that the level of hospitality was virtually non-existent. There were also times where the car valet parked further away from the door when there was space available near the door - this was not helpful especially with 2 young children under 3.

Excellent location and hotel had all the facilities you could wish for on a holiday. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to ensure and requests were met quickly and efficiently. Could not fault it.

Poor experience

We stayed at your hotel from October 18 to October 19. Upon check-in, we were informed at the reception that a physical identification document was required for check-in. My wife did not have the original document on hand but showed an official UAEICP app-issued certificate, which is recognized as a valid form of ID in the UAE. Despite this, the hotel staff refused to accommodate us and denied check-in. They advised us to call the police, claiming that if the police verified my wife’s identity, we could be allowed to check in. We contacted the police, who arrived and confirmed her identity in front of the staff, yet they still refused to host us. The employees behaved as if we posed a threat, and around five staff members gathered around us but offered no assistance or attempt to resolve the issue. Their attitude and lack of cooperation caused unnecessary emotional distress, wasted our time, and disrupted our plans. Eventually, we had to drive back to Dubai to retrieve the original documents, only to return to Abu Dhabi three hours later, which was exhausting and potentially unsafe. We understand and respect the legal requirements; however, we are holders of a UAE Golden Visa, have not broken any laws, and provided documentation that complies with UAE legislation. We have stayed at Rixos hotels multiple times before, but we have never encountered such an attitude or unwillingness to resolve guest issues. The behavior of the hotel staff was not in line with the standards expected from a 5-star hotel and has left a negative impression. .

Very beautiful property, but the room fell short of our expectations.

Overall it is very nice. The beach area is decent. The breakfast was amazing.

We booked a premium room with sea view and balcony. When we were doing our research it showed that that room came with a welcome gift,which consisted of a fruit tower and a box of assorted chocolates and nuts. When we got to the room none of that was there. In one of the emails we received and the person that checked us in asked us if we were celebrating something. I said yes my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. He said, oh that's nice. But other than that there was nothing done to recognize our celebration. We stayed at a Embassy Suites in Houston,TX for my birthday a few years ago. The person checking us in noticed that it was my birthday and wished me a happy birthday . A little bit after checking we got a knock at the door. It was one of the hotel staff with a cart . They had sent up some chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of sparkling wine. On the tray with the strawberries they had written in chocolate, Happy Birthday John. That is going above and beyond. We had dinner at the Rixos, and it was very busy. We checked in with the hostess and were told to go ahead. We could not find a table so we asked one of the staff members for help. After looking around the room for a few seconds he told us that they could seat us outside. But if you know Dubai it is always hot and it was probably 105 degrees that night. So of course we said no we were not going to sit outside. Eventually another person came by and heard what was going on and found us a decent table. The room was very spacious, but other than that it was not any nicer than some of the other hotels we stayed at in which we paid a quarter of the price, that we paid there at the Rixos.

I did not like anything. Do to recommend this hotel to anyone. It should not be ranked as 5* hotel

Room service was very poor. When asked to refill the mini-bar, it took 45 minutes and required 5 calls to get it to the room.. Mini-var was simply just a joke. Just 2 water, 2 coke and 2 beer... Booked all-inclusive,m for 6 days but the food severed was disgusting and repeated throughout the week

We stayed in a suite and found it to be spacious, comfortable, and excellent value for the price. The kids’ club was a real highlight, keeping our children entertained and happy throughout the stay.

The only letdown was the buffet and overall food quality, which felt average compared to the rest of the experience.

One of my worst hotel stays

Nothing, shall not visit again

The welcoming, reception staff had no sense of hospitality. The room was so outdated and most of of stuff were broken (like light switches). The AC in room was not cooling properly, water pressure in washroom was too bad. The restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner was as very very small, can not hold the number of guests at the hotel. The food items option in the buffet was very poor. The kids play area is also not the best. It is designed more for girls and no toys for boys. Also very small and too dark for kids play area

Our first time at Rixos Marina but for sure not the last one, everything was great from first day to the last one. Best food of all rixos hotels we stayed in,great pools,lots of stuff for kids to do and also nice private beach. Awesome place,we Can't wait to visit it again

Short staycation for Eid turned out extremely disappointing.

The hotel has a great location with easy access to the beach and main roads.

The hotel is in complete disrepair. Major renovations are needed. Our shower room ceiling was falling apart. The hotel pool needs serious action due to missing tiles leaving behind sharp points which can be dangerous especially for young children. I would not class this hotel as 5*.

Amazing hotel deserves all the great reviews

loved everything about this hotel, amazing and loved up to our expectations. So clean, service is fantastic, food great, all inclusive option is excellent. Load of pools and choices of places to eat we will be back. They have the cool little domes for young kids to get away from the sun and have a sleep / chill fab idea.

My only gripe is the extra bed we got for my daughter was so uncomfortable, it was extremely hard and felt like sleeping on concrete.

Would have been good to have more children friendly pool options like a splash pad with slides etc. and the park and outdoor areas are not covered from the sun making them unusable in the extreme heat. So cover the outside play areas to provide shade and it will be a much more usable area.

Too many people

The hotel, rooms and breakfast are really good. The problem is too many people and mainly families with children. We didn’t have a chance to get any sun beds either by the pools or on the beach. People leave the towels on the sun beds reserve them and didn’t show up. In the morning there is quite strong low tide so the part of the sea where allowed to swim looks like a puddle.
