A beautiful retreat and oasis in the jungle

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kappa Senses Ubud. The place is incredibly peaceful, nestled in an environment that truly reflects the beauty of Ubud and its rice fields.
The staff is remarkably professional, with a level of training worthy of a true 5-star hotel. Always smiling, attentive, and helpful, they address guests by name and remember every preference, which makes the experience even more personal. The manager and the entire team (Puspa, Ari, Lopez, Lisna, Tiara and all the other wonderful team members) genuinely go above and beyond.
The food is fresh, delicious, and of outstanding quality. Special mention to the talented French chef. Breakfast overlooking the rice fields is simply breathtaking.
The architecture, design, and attention to detail in the rooms are impressive. Everything is thoughtfully designed for comfort, calm, and well-being. The hotel is exceptionally quiet and serene.
The complimentary classes and activities offered to guests are outstanding. I have never seen anything like this before: you could easily spend your entire stay within the hotel and its surroundings without ever getting bored. The free shuttle to the city center, running several times a day, is also very convenient.
I especially appreciated the hotel’s commitment to promoting local craftsmanship and talent, which adds even more meaning to the experience.
In summary, a true haven of peace—elegant, authentic, and genuinely caring. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking calm, quality, and excellence. I will definitely return. And above all: THANK YOU TO THE KAPPA SENSES TEAM!!!

Lovely hotel. Stayed in Villa 100 overlooking the rice paddies, near the main restaurant. Lots of privacy. The pool was used every day, rain or shine. Small but perfect for cooling off. Lots of sunshine 10am-2pm. Great deck area to sunbathe around the pool - non-slip. Table and seating outside. Room was great. Large bathroom with shower and bath, good wifi, vanity area, TV, coffee machine, plenty of closet space. Very clean. Excellent service. Extensive breakfast buffet.
In-room dining options were a bit limited.

We had a wonderful stay at Kappa Senses Ubud. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed, making it a great place to relax and unwind.
What truly stood out was the service. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, and their warmth made our stay feel very special.
The only area where our experience fell short was the food, particularly the breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, we found the quality and options quite disappointing, to the point that on our last day we decided not to have breakfast at the hotel. This was unexpected given the otherwise high standard of the resort.

The restaurant food was nice. I liked that they had a lot of varieties. As well the amenities were always on top. They always had everything we needed. I wouldn’t have any complaints in terms of service, staff or amenities.
I don’t have any complaints. The only “complaint” I would have would be the bugs, if you are going from your place to the restaurant for example. But, that is to be expected since you are in nature, as well it’s not really a hotel issue(more of a personal issue).

The facilities were fantastic. The property was well kempt, staff cleaned it daily. The architecture was immaculate. Our room could not be faulted. I loved the daily buffet breakfast
The location was slightly out of the way for drivers but that must be intentional for the land and seclusion purposes

Everything was excellent from staff , services , restaurants, cleanliness, scheduled activities even. Staff are so friendly and kind. You will be immersed in the Balinese culture and experience there rituals and daily routines. Also not to mention they have a shuttle to ubud center which had ease the transportation from and to the resort.

Kappa senses is simply a fantastic hotel. We were staying in more central ubud before, but over the years it has got so built up and busy with people and traffic that it has totally lost its charm and beauty that it used to. When we arrived at Kappa it was just such a huge relief and as it still has the quiet peaceful charm of ‘unruined’ Bali. It was just perfect.
The staff are incredible, everyone is so helpful and friendly. Particular credit to Mustika who works in the food gardens and with the animals because he honestly made my 1yr olds holiday so magical, helping to feed the fish and the rabbits, he honestly was a highlight of our stay as we went most days.
The pool is fantastic (although a little chilly!) and the grounds of the hotel are so lush and green and well kept everywhere.
The restaurants are amazing and so well priced and food is delicious.
The room — AMAZING. Huge and so well equipped and comfy. We had a jungle view room and it was so peaceful.
Would LOVE to stay here again, I can’t fault it.
It wasn’t an issue for us at all, but just to flag for anyone it does affect: although it’s all fairly flat, there are several up and down stairs around, especially to get to the jungle rooms and jungle pool which definitely wouldn’t be wheelchair etc friendly.

Kappa Senses Ubud is truly a gem, we loved everything about it! It has a great location, spacious and beautiful rooms and truly the most lovely staff, everything and everyone was extremely kind and wonderful and truly made us feel welcomed and at home. ☺️
The daily breakfast spread was wonderful too, with a variety of selection. Their in house restaurant Kokokan offers fine dining French cuisine, and honestly it is delicious despite the higher price tag.
We highly recommend staying with Kappa Senses, we will definitely be back again next time in Ubud! Thank you 🙏 ☺️

The resort was absolutely stunning and such a wonderful place to stay. A convenient shuttle service makes it easy to get into Ubud Centre, which was a great bonus. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety that catered to every taste. Most of all, the staff truly made the experience unforgettable—Puspa, Lopez, and Ari were incredibly warm and kind, as was the entire team.

I like the amenities of the hotel, villa with pool and rice field were perfect for relaxing. The staff was very friendly, they organised a surprise for my husband’s birthday and up great our room with better view. The shuttle bus to the Ubud centre is good edition. We liked the breakfast (eggs Benedict and good coffee especially) and diner in the terrace restaurant (French cuisine). There is astonishing view and life music. We also took a tour from the hotel to the rice fields and waterfalls and it was very comfortable with a private driver Sumar , he followed us everywhere and help to provide some information.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kappa senses. The overall atmosphere and setting are truly beautiful, and the rooms are exceptionally spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection and high quality. Our overall impression is definitely very positive.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the service. Mr Suyasa, the front office manager, went above and beyond to help us in many situations, including arranging our transfers to the Gili Islands. He assisted not only with our departure from the hotel, but also with our return, even helping us change our ferry booking. This level of care and attention is something I have rarely experienced before, even in higher-end properties.
Finally, the spa deserves a special mention – it was truly excellent.
I would make two observations. The first concerns the restaurants: the poolside restaurant has a very basic menu and the food was not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The main restaurant, on the other hand, has a menu that feels overly pretentious, clearly inspired by the French ownership, which doesn’t quite match the Indonesian location and setting. Considering that the hotel is at a 30 minutes drive from UBUD, staying at the hotel for the dinner can be the best option after a day of activity outside.
The second observation is about the room policy. Families with two children are not allowed to stay in one room, even though the rooms are large and often feature a mezzanine living area that would easily accommodate 2 children. We had to book two rooms, even though one would have been more than sufficient for our family. It's not because of the higher cost, but allowing families to stay together would make the experience even better.

We had a wonderful stay at Kappa Senses. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and designed with so much attention to detail. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome — especially Suyasa, who was so kind and thoughtful throughout our stay. Every moment felt relaxing and memorable.
We can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend Kappa Senses to anyone visiting Bali. 🌿✨

The location and how the architecture of the villas perfectly blend in the surrounding rice fields and lush vegetation. The food was also amazing. And finally the activities organized by the hotel were very enjoyable and allowed us and our kids to know more about the local culture.

Everything was excellent! Staff was very polite, kind, attentive to every detail, always greeting us with smiles. Special thanks to Lisna and Ari who were also our tour guides in visiting traditional Balinese home and rice fields. Also special thanks to Aristan who was not only an excellent driver during our 5 hour tour, but also was extremely kind and told us lots of insights about Balinese culture.
We lived in villa with the pool which was very well maintained, clean, cozy with beautiful open air bathroom.
Food in the hotel was 10/10, including delicious wide selection breakfast.
Hotel itself has very relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by small villages and rice fields and lots of greenery in the hotel too.
Hotel offers wide variety of free activities including visiting traditional Balinese house, rice fields, Balinese coffee making, yoga and many more which helps to get to know beautiful Balinese culture. Also they have a variety of tours for additional price to visit various places in Ubud or Bali.
This hotel is a true gem in Ubud!
Music at the main pool area during the day time.

A special thank you to Komang Suyasa (I believe he’s the Front Office Manager) who went above and beyond to make my stay smooth and enjoyable. Super helpful, kind, and professional.

The entire team was just amazing! We have a 6 months old daughter and wherever possible (breakfast, spa treatments) they took care of her. Food was delicious and the facilities are outstanding.
Transfer to the airport takes quite long (2hrs) but everything in the hotel was great!

My family and I arrived at this hotel after spending three nights in another hotel (also in Ubud area). The hotels were of similar apparent quality and we changed simply because we wanted to change from the a "jungle location" to a "rice field" location. However, the reality was that the Kapa Senses was actually far better than where we were. Service was outstanding and the overall condition of the rooms and facilities was amazing. All staff were super friendly and really made sure our stay was seamless and pleasurable. They gave us an upgrade so that our room was adjacent to our childrens room and additionally we left a mouth guard behind and they took care of sending this on to our next location. Overall Outstanding!
We liked it all

Kappa Senses is the perfect place to stay in Bali. We really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and great amenities - lovely pools and restaurants. The breakfast buffet and evening meals were delicious every day. All the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The daily activities were very interesting and fun and we learned a lot about Bali culture from staff who were knowledgeable and kind. It is easy to get to Ubud on the free shuttle but we were happy to just enjoy the natural calm of the hotel. We are very happy that we chose to stay there.

I had an amazing stay at kappa senses. The service was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and their kindness really stood out when my friend had an injury during our trip (outside of hotel). They were incredibly helpful, offering assistance and ensuring we had everything we needed. The rooms were spotless, the amenities were top-notch, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming

First time staying at Kappa Senses and I was amazed by a great deal of things from them.
1. Location was good for people who wanted to escape the bustling lifestyle of a typical city, and just escape into the serenity of the landscape surrounding Kappa Senses (i.e. the rice paddy fields and forests).
2. Breakfast spread was pretty good - enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast with a variety of local dishes as well as international options. Sat directly next to the paddy fields and enjoyed a clear beautiful sky to start the morning.
3. Gym facility is relatively good for the hotel albeit slightly small. It's open 24/7 which is good, and has all the basic equipments to fulfil my workouts.
4. Staff were very friendly and helpful to make one feel welcomed during their stay.
5. My room was absolutely impressive as I had a bedroom villa with a private pool and a huge outdoor bathroom. For the price I paid, it was absolutely worth the stay. For what it's worth, what you get is exactly as displayed on their pictures online.
Whilst I enjoyed the location being surrounded by the peacefulness of nature, it is also quite a distance from other tourist sites i.e. the Ubud city center as well as many other attractions. But I took the trip to Bali to escape the hustle and bustle, so I didn't mind it.

We had a fantastic 4 night stay with half board (which was a great buffet breakfast and a generous two course meal of your choosing + drink each day). The room was large and private. There were plenty of diverse food and drink options on site, including by the quiet pools. Service was friendly everywhere we went with many staff remembering our names and room number, making the experience personal and particularly welcoming. There was also a free shuttle into town at intervals and daily activities scheduled around the resort- we joined yoga classes, walked through rice fields, and visited a local home in the neighbouring village. The on-site spa is a little expensive but that is to be expected given the products used are Clarins. The treatments were professional and you are given time to relax and enjoy the facilities before and after- only downside was the lack of airconditioning after the reception area (i.e. treatment rooms can be quite warm depending on the time of day). Highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a retreat experience. Everything is taken care of and you can really unwind here.
