The Lux at Ryedale House

Great location right in the heart of York. Very clean and lovely furnishings.

We experienced some very hot weather during our stay and it was difficult to cool the apartment. The bedroom fans are ineffective. Became very uncomfortable at times.

The property location was perfect! Really lovely touch with the goody bags too, thank you. The rooms were a good size and as there were two bathrooms, I had one and he the other! We slept in the master suite and the bed was really comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked too. Lots of thought had gone into it. Was really glad to have use of the washing machine as it meant less washing to take home. We liked the secure parking space too but it was a little tight when the next parking space was occupied by someone who parked very near the parking line. I had to get out of the car before we parked because of the pillar

The fact that when I was booking out there was no key-safe marked for our property and no one on reception to help. I went over every key-safe but nothing for 407! Didn’t help that they don’t run in number sequence either. I mentioned the parking space tightness above. The large window with the glass Juliet balcony was marked as unable to be opened. As it’s summer and the temperatures were high, we really missed not ring able to open it. As stated the apartment has two bedrooms and there was a large fan in the lounge and two tower fans. We had to use the two tower fans in our bedroom, as the temperature in the apartment was sky high, which if we had been a family of four would mean there was insufficient fans for everyone. I would suggest that this is looked at as it’s going to be an ongoing problem. There was one lift out all week which I believe had been out the week before. Apart from the parking space, I think that the above are management issues and not owner problems.

Apartment is beautiful and very well appointed. Only 5 mins walk from the centre of everything. Full, comprehensive and straightforward instructions regarding access, parking etc. Would absolutely stay again.

Really, honestly . . . nothing.
