Scam. Nobody was there. They took my money and won’t refund and are mad I left a bad review

Update: bad to worse. I contacted the property and they excused me of not calling even though I did as well as buzz several times. They took my money and scammed me. When I contacted them, they were upset about the bad review and offered nothing to correct the situation. They still have my money and I’ll have to go through my credit card to get a refund because they left me on the street and don’t think they should have to give me my money back and Bookings is useless as could be. Bookings confirmed the booking and charged me. I arrived and nobody was there. I was alone on the streets at 11 pm at night, and there was nothing open in the town. I had to sit outside the train station for six hours with the police and the military, who brought me a blanket until the station opened. Best part of the town - good police.

Comfortable, clean and central

We forgot an item in the property and the owner washed it and was waiting for us to return it, exceptionally kind gesture. We only stayed for one night. The property was very central and clean.

A gem in an unexpected place, who knew?

loved the room. We had a balcony which made for a wonderful evening. The operator is friendly. The city Ventimiglia is a secret gem for a vacation spot, a beautiful beach, a row of fantastic restaurants along the water front. Several streets have been set aside as pedestrian malls lined with cafes and restaurants.

The check out time is early at 10 AM, and they are not kidding! We were running a few minutes behind on a Sunday morning and they would not give us any extra time.

Clean & just a short walk from the train station

Large bathroom, bed was comfortable. Okay for one night, just to put your head down. Pietro was nice and his communication was good/ responsive even though he didn’t speak very much English. He lives in the building which was good, but had no issues during my stay. There is a small lift which is great! Place is secure - locked front entry and room locks well - best to leave key in overnight.

The sensor light in the entry was a little annoying at times. Of an evening I wanted to turn it off but I don’t think I could. The place was very small if you were to sleep 3 people (there was one double bed and one single bed in the place). The fridge was small and unplugged which wasn’t ideal, given i got in around 8pm (due to train strikes). There was no kitchen, which wasn’t clear. Also the area where the place is situated seemed a little sketchy at first, which wasn’t ideal for a solo female traveller. It was odd that the room was more of a boarding style place, with the apartment being broken up by each bedroom and it being its own separate place. There is a lot of larger furniture in the room which just takes up space - can’t be used so it might be best to free up space.

Nice and convenient place for a quick stop

Comfortable room with private bathroom in a guesthouse. Very clean and several minutes away from the train station, which is very convenient when you have an early morning train. Quick check-in and an autonomous check-out. We made a reservation at a last moment, in the late evening, for the same day, but to our surprise and lucky it was accepted right away.

All fine except for the pillows which were too hard and big to sleep comfortably.

Spacious and clean. A small balcony is a bonus. A very nice welcome which we easily understood, even though we don't speak Italian.

Check in instructions upon arrival needs to be much clearer. We didn't know what bell to ring or who to really call. We called the number on our booking and nice staff found us outside within minutes so all ok.

the place has two names for same hotel so if you are unlucky your room is just rented out to someone else when you arrive - too bad
