A great stay

Overall very good

House was lovely

It was difficult to find, busy noisy main road, had to have window opened as very hot house. Wasn’t too clear where you could park, they said we could park by the fence but there was only walls and seemed to be cars parked there. We was short of towels too

Great at first sight ....

The house is easy to reach, has parking and there is a small supermarket just over the road. The road it looks out onto is fairly busy in the morning but the noise didn't disturb us. The house is on a new build estate and has moden furnishings inside, the lounge area is particularly comfortable with an amazing sofa!

I was, however, disappointed. I raised concerns as soon as we arrived via email and in a second email detailing more problems but heard nothing throughout our stay. We used the house as a base, needing to cook and 'live' in it. So actually, it wasn't that clean - the oven was dirty, there were kids toys and crisps underneath the sofa, sheets had coffee stains, there were kids stickers in a bed and it was very dusty and dirty under another. One double bed was of a good size, the other two weren't: my son just fitting length-wise in one, this bed also had a mattress that didn't fit the frame and the third bed was squeezed into the room making double occupancy impossible. The shower in bathroom two was broken and going back to the kitchen, a cover was missing from a gas burner meaning it couldn't be used. Most importantly, the dishwasher wasn't fixed into its casing so with the door open and the shelves extracted it fell forwards crushing my foot. One last thing .... we were attending a ceremony and needed to use the iron - it had been blackened by a previous user and couldn't be used at the temperature needed ....

Would stay again, it was a lovely place.

Host fantastic! Left sweet little touches such as kitchen essentials (tea, coffee, washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs, etc), hand wash and fully stocked toilet paper. The house itself was spotless and in a great location (we went to Colchester Zoo, 10 minutes away). Could not fault it! It was also a bonus not to have been rushed out of house at 10 instead check out time 11 on departure day.

I think just pans need updating. Although we didn’t cook!

Delightful modern sparkling clean 3 double bedroom house in good location.

Very clean comfortable well kitted out new build home. 3 double bedrooms all with fitted wardrobes. Third room quite small but adequate. Lovely en suite shower room to main bedroom, great family bathroom with good shower over bath and nice downstairs toilet. Plenty of hot water. Open plan kitchen, breakfast bar and lounge area. Kitchen was well equipped with white goods, utensils, pots and crockery. Cleaning agents and dishwasher tabs supplied. Nice comfortably furnished lounge area with large screen TV, though cable only. Small enclosed garden with single two seater outdoor chair. Plenty of parking at back of house. Close to major roads serving Colchester. About 30 mins walk to town centre though a few local neighbourhood grocery stores within 5 min walk.

It is difficult to find fault with this property. It was very comfortable, sparkling clean and aesthetically pleasing on the eye. It would be perfect with a little more dining provision (there were only 2 stools for breakfast bar), a hairdryer, more outdoor furniture, the lawn mowed and terrestrial tv.
