A great Donegal find!

John the host was extremely welcoming and helpful and very kindly let us check in earlier. The facilities were great, lovely big room with separate seating area. The use of the kitchen where eggs, cereals, buns etc were provided was a lovely unexpected bonus. Great location a 15min walk to the lovely local pub and restaurant. Would definitely recommend. In fact we are booked in for another stay already!

Idyllic rural stay, yet convenient to a small village

It was an absolute pleasure staying in Loch Connell Lodge. A beautiful house in an idyllic location - a few mins walk from the old railway walk by Loch Connell. It was so quiet and peaceful. The house is spacious and spotless, with a great big kitchen stocked with supplies for breakfast and plenty of cooking utensils for self catering. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The sitting room was so relaxing with a giant sofa. Really appreciated the fresh eggs left for breakfast- a lovely touch! As were the fresh buns to enjoy with a cuppa. Our host gave us a dinner recommendation which was brilliant! We had a delicious meal in Casadh an tsúgáin, about two mins drive away in the village of Loch an Iúir. Loch Connell Lodge was a real find. Would recommend it highly. Great for couples or a small group of family or friends. I look forward very much to a return visit.. 😊

Hidden gem in Donegal’s lakes

The accommodation is easy to find thanks to the signage provided by John. It is an excellent self-catering facility and the provision of breakfast items by John (the host) makes it an excellent choice. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent both in terms of temperature and power. Weather permitting, you have the option to eat in the dining room beside the kitchen or outside. We had a great time staying at Loch Connell Lodge.

It is nice to stay in a place where you can see that the owners have put some much care, love and efforts to make it so special. Original art and something I never ever had in any place I stayed before, a nice surprise and icing on the cake : a waterbed matress !

Quiet accommodation in a rural setting

Very helpful owner who gave us full access to a spacious kitchen with a large dining table and provided food to make our own breakfast. The bedroom and bathroom were of a good size with a double water bed an interesting surprise. There’s access just down from the front garden to a long walk either east or west along a former rail line.

Spacious accomomdation and very clean. Hosts were very welcoming and offered use of kitchen facilities and supplies. Very quite location

There was no mention in the property description of the room having a water bed. I can see the attraction but they're not for everyone and this should be clearly stated in order to manager expectations. Shower in bathroom was very noisy and might need replacing. Would have woken up everyone in the house had I taken a shower in the morning before I left.

Beautiful & cozy home perfectly situated in Donegal for day trips along the coast or relaxing days in Loch an Iúir. Very clean & spacious property with endless kitchen utensils/supplies in order to cook our own food. The host, John, was lovely & was accommodating with us with a late check in. He was very helpful at check in & had all of the fires in the house lit for us upon arrival. Perfect for a winters evening.

La struttura è fuori da una città o da un paese. I più vicini sono a pochi minuti di auto.

Un lugar de descanso y tranquilidad

Lo que sobresale para mí es el anfitrión, John. No solo es amable, sino que se le nota un afán de asegurar que todos sus huéspedes estén muy bien. La casa está situada por encima de un pequeño lago, al lado del cual hay un camino muy bonito para pasear. Y como base, la casa también está muy bien ubicado para descubrir la belleza de Donegal. Muchos elogian la cocina en las reseñas — y con razón. Está muy completa e incluye una gran mesa en una sala anexa soleada. Me ayudó a controlar gastos, gracias a la proximidad de supermercados y la posibilidad de cocinar libremente lo que quería preparar, con todos los recursos. Pero reitero que el espíritu de la casa se marca por la hospitalidad y el amable carácter de John, quién incluso tenía tiempo para sentarse y charlar un rato con un té caliente. Volveré sin duda.

Me encantó el gran dormitorio, así como el baño en integrado. Podría ser una buena idea. Renovar las sábanas para un confort máximo pero aparte de esto, no se me ocurre ninguna otra mejora.
