Property is just a 3 min walk to thr beach down a rustic path. Staff were certainly the highlight. Id stay there again.

Sense's staff are helpful and caring. The exterior of the hotel is nice and located next to Echo Beach within a 10-minute walk. However, the interior of the room is quite outdated. Some of the decorations are worn. Also, there is barely any soundproofing measurement inside. I can hear people talking in the pool, especially those who are drunk and keep screaming at midnight and next door, which is extremely disturbing .

Service in dining took over 40 minutes for a drink. Had breakfast twice. First time forgot to serve the fruit. Second time forgot to give orange juice. Lots of laughter but very bad service.

I stayed at the Sense in Canguu for 10 days in April 2025. The place was lovely and clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Had a lovely time there and can highly recommend.

I had a fantastic stay at Sense Canggu Beach Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality and attentiveness. The hotel itself was spotless—everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which made my stay even more comfortable. A special shoutout to Sintya, who truly went above and beyond to make my experience memorable. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made a big difference and really stood out during my stay. Highly recommend this hotel!

Generally nice and tidy, however the towels and sheets seemed dirty smelt terrible, they also didn’t change the sheets or towels for a 6 night stay when they clearly needed it. There are also random cats around the property that try to come into your room. The staff were lovely, only issue was being charged for the mini bar when I didn’t use it at all. Not bad but not good, I wouldn’t stay here again…

The most disappointing stay in all of Bali. I was here on business with very full packed days. I wasn’t overly excited when checking in to be put in the basement of a building. It was dark getting to and front the room, no lights on so felt uncomfortable as a single female traveller. On Sunday evening I went to sit on my patio and there was a guy there taking black sludge out of a pot hole and putting it into garbage bags. Right in front of my room!!! Why would you even put guests in these rooms? I’m a silver member as well I should have said something and been moved however my time was so limited and didn’t have the time to deal with it. The food was also terrible. I didn’t eat there after the first meal was sent back undercooked. The pool was nice, good music and bartender. Overall wasn’t impressed with the stay for 4M idr for 3 nights. You can get better places closer in town as well as this place was quite removed. Won’t stay here again.

Property a bit on the older side, but for what it's worth. I enjoyed the pool side bar and roof top bar. Restaurant food was great too. Staff services were excellent. Hotel's transportation drivers were courteous and friendly. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Arranged an airport pickup with the hotel and the driver was lovely. All staff were amazing. Had a welcome drink on arrival. Bedrooms and bathrooms were a great size and really clean. Pool area was well maintained and clean. Room service was good. Would love to rate this property 5/5 but got food poisoning on the last day from breakfast.

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Beds comfortable, shower good and pool lovely. Had to fight for a sunbed most days as there aren’t enough! Location is good for those wanting a quieter experience just outside Canggu.

The hotel is not exactly as the pictures show, it's at least 4-5 years out of date. Our room was not as clean as we liked, the duvet and bedsheets had seen better days, not even a wash would of cleaned them. There were 2 afternoons, where the pool bar was being prioritised for 10 individuals who were in a party mood, the bar man who was Australian seem to be entertaining them with throwing ice around, and shouting rude gestures every so often. He continued to play very loud, head banging music, even though some of the speakers surrounding the pool area sounded as they were about to blow. I wouldn't stay here again. The Balinese staff were friendly and nice to speak too. This stay is not for all, maybe it's just Canggu that we didn't particularly take a liking too. It's just for partying Aussies.

Sense is worth considering if your staying in Canggu and wat to be away from the busy shops and roads, the hotel is not that close to the beach so you will need a bike or cab to get to the various beaches. Great poll with nice access from the ground floor rooms and swim up bar.

For the price paid, there are a lot of better options for both location and activity. Some of the villas on the neighbouring roads are cheaper and better. Cons: Maybe before the pandemic it would have been somewhat worth the price, as there are signs that the area was gentrifying, but post pandemic many of businesses are not back up, and they've shut the road to the beach so this is now basically the furthest possible hotel to the beach because of how the roads in Bali work (ie you basically have to go all the way back up the road and back down the next road that leads to the beach). This basically turned a 4 min walk into a 15-30 min potholey car/bike ride depending on which beach you want to go to. That doesn't sound too exhausting... except we wanted to surf and the idea of having to get in a car wet and sandy every day was just not tenable. Pros: There's a great cafe next to the hotel though which everybody goes to, probably because it's the only cafe within walking distance. Service was nice... helpful and smiley. The room was clean but the sheets have this damp texture that might be because of the humidity. Pool was super clean, no random leaves and insects floating in it which I appreciate, and the sun (when there's some) gets on the pool directly so it could be a good place to retreat to. Note: Some of the recent reviews lamented about construction next door. When we were there it looked like the noisy construction was pretty much done, it was quite quiet.

Paid to upgrade to pool access room and it was worth it! Appreciated the helpful staff who got me medical attention when injured. The location is 10mins away from Echo Beach. Be sure to check out the spa and food next door.

Staff is terrible, they play loud music fairly early in the morning. While the rooms are ok, the service is absolutely terrible. This is not a 4 star hotel. I’ve been staying at hotels in the same area (same price range) that are much better. While staying at the hotel, they don’t treat you as if you are the guest! Everything you ask for is a huge task for them. Asking them for an extra towel was a big deal. When paying for food, I noticed that they shorted me the amount. This happened on three separate occasions... not until the third did I bring it up. Their answer was simply “we don’t have change sorry”. Would not recommend!!!

Lovely looking hotel, clean and modern rooms with a lovely pool area. However avoid the food and drinks!! Firstly we noticed that on the menu they offered a vegan pizza with Parmesan cheese. Then when I ordered the vegetable rice for breakfast, it came with chicken. Unfortunately I didn’t notice until halfway through eating it. I am a vegetarian.

Great lovely resort hidden in Canggu. 5-10 walk to echo beach. Downside our room wasnt ready by 2pm check in time and also pool towels not available down pool had to wait for staff member. Overall though would comeback n stay here. Good vibes.
