APA Hotel ＆ Resort Nishishinjuku Gochome Ekimae Tower

Convenient location to Shinjuku station. Very clean and a comfortable bed.

Very clean. The hotel had everything we needed.

Convenient Location, Thoughtful Amenities, but Check-in Could Be Improved Simplified luxury is the signature concept of APA Hotels, and this hotel delivers on its promise of modern conveniences in a compact, eco-friendly space. The location is strategic, with the hotel situated close to a metro station exit, making it easy to get around Tokyo. The surrounding neighbourhood is also well-equipped with convenience stores, which is especially handy when you need late-night snacks or drinks. Everything you need is thoughtfully provided. From daily toiletries and complimentary coffee and green tea sets to free-flow drinking water on every guest floor, the hotel management team has clearly considered the little details that make a stay more comfortable. Each room also comes with a water flask that you can conveniently refill. The bathroom is clean, with excellent ventilation and a powerful exhaust system. The room and bathroom are also reasonably sized for a compact Japanese hotel, making the space comfortable even for Asian travellers. One downside is that the lifts can involve quite a long wait, even though the hotel has three or four lifts. My guess is that the complimentary onsen facility on the second floor which is available to all overnight guests is very popular. That contributes to the frequent lift congestion. This can be a little inconvenient, especially during peak hours as it can take awhile for the lift to arrive. The check-in process was also unnecessarily complicated and stressful, particularly when you are rushing for time. The instructions provided by the staff was unclear, and it took me around 15 minutes to complete a process that could easily have been done in five. In fact, the self-service check-in process might have been much smoother if I had completed it independently from the start, as I could have entered the correct information directly. On the positive side, checking out is a breeze if you have no additional charges to settle. You can simply return your key card through the express checkout machine. The self-service luggage storage system is another convenient feature. The registration process is straightforward, and the staff were able to locate our luggage quickly when we returned to collect it. The complimentary onsen is a nice bonus, although the resulting lift congestion can be inconvenient. The main areas for improvement would be the check-in experience and lift efficiency, particularly during busy periods.
