Was assigned the worst room in the oceanfront category that I had booked for 4 nights; 1st floor directly beside restaurant. Was told at check-in that they save the better rooms for longer term guests.☹️ I checked and the average stay is 1 to 3 nights. And had the pleasure of a fire alarm activating at 3:30 am that run for a solid half an hour. The fire dept. had to come & shut it off. And as a final insult never received an apology slipped under the door or via email for the extremely unpleasant experience. I had to ask at the front desk to see what the outcome was and they had no idea at all as what had happened. And enormous cruise ships will block your view daily from 8 to 5. Maybe don’t bother spending the money on oceanfront.

it was a great experience (aside from the fire alarm at 4 a.m). The bathroom could benefit by: making it a walkin shower . the bathtub floor was slippery and there is nothing to assist in getting out - there should be grab bars (ADA compliant???) also the ceiling fan in the bathroom was VERY loud - that could use some help. all else was great. .

Location was excellent!!!! The section of the hotel we stayed in badly needs a face lift for the nightly rate we paid. The bathroom was really small and just not what I expected for the nightly rate. We asked for an ocean view room. Well we did get an ocean view when the cruise ships were not in port. We had cruise ships there do 4 of the 5 days we stayed obstructing the view. This was a disappointment. So double check if you are asking for an ocean view. Staff was hit or miss. All professional but some more friendly than others. If location is the most important part of the stay their location was excellent!!!

Location was excellent! Parking in the garage was convenient but getting to the room was awful. Using the elevators was difficult and inconvenient. The layout was crazy! Housekeeping kept everything very clean. They come in every day. However, one day they left our door unlocked and cracked open. Open for anyone to come in. There are no surveillance cameras that I observed. We got back late at night. This is a huge safety concern, not just the fact that all of our valuables could have been stolen. The beds are also very stiff/ firm and the blanket is not thick enough if it is cold out. The ac/ heat unit did not work that well.

Everyone was nice just not as upscale as it looks In pics. Rooms are needing some upgraded TLC in my opinion. Definitely need more hotel food options. Mexican restaurants is ok. Breakfast needs to be served all day if that is the only restaurant on site, shuts off at 10:30 am

We’ve stayed at many places in Key West. Of the hotels, Opal was the best! The location is great! Our marina view room was clean with a beautiful view and it had a fridge and a Keurig! They have free bottled water in the lobbies - huge plus! Would DEFINITELY stay at Opal again!

Wide assortment of healthy and traditional food at breakfast and well priced. Room was clean but some areas in need of updating. AirCon worked well. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Had certain issues with a double booking which eluded admin staff and that was ‘somewhat’ irksome but apart from that all was well.

This was our second visit to the hotel and I had bought friends with us this time as it was one of the best destinations and hotels we had been to. Unfortunately, the staff were not as friendly or welcoming and I was upset to find the best thing about the hotel (the sunset balcony was closed). Not only was it closed but there was no notification before we arrived or on arrival plus works were being carried out during the day making the pool area inhabitable due to the drilling.
