    If your embarking on the Shimanami kaido look no further than this hotel. The rental location and ferry are no more that 100 meters from this location and it is right next to the train station. Great views and wonderful staff.

    Green Hill offered the right combination of location and value for our money. Onomichi represented the beginning of our bike excursion along the Shimanami Kaido, and Green Hill allowed us a good night’s rest to begin our journey.

    I booked this hotel in Onomichi over a month in advance, but our check-in experience was an absolute nightmare. We arrived exhausted at around 8:00 PM on the first day of our trip, only to be told by the front desk that they couldn't find our reservation and claimed Agoda had canceled it. Even though I showed them my Agoda app clearly stating the booking was "Confirmed and Paid" (and we were already past the free cancellation period), the staff completely brushed us off. They insisted they couldn't help and told us to either resolve it with Agoda ourselves or pay out of pocket for a new room right then and there. We were forced to stand helplessly at the front desk for an hour trying to contact customer support. The front desk staff showed absolutely no empathy, offered no assistance, and completely lacked the basic hospitality you would expect. After a long and exhausting hassle, we had no choice but to accept Agoda's solution: canceling our original booking on the backend and making a brand-new, same-day reservation on the spot. Because it was a last-minute booking, the new room rate was a staggering 50% more expensive than what we had originally paid! Since it was late at night and we were incredibly tired, we had to reluctantly swallow the cost just to have a place to sleep. Encountering such a ridiculous and poorly handled situation on day one completely ruined our holiday mood. I highly advise double-checking your reservations manually with this hotel before arriving, or better yet, look for an accommodation with staff who actually care about their guests.
