Sakura Shimanami Hotel

Great l9cation by thd train station and bike hire station for the Shimanami Keido bike ride. Staff helped us arrange luggage forwarding to the end of the bike ride. Cute pet robot in reception. Great sea view.

Air-conditioning position in the single room was over the bed so got a bit chilly while sleeping.

I stayed here with the intention of hiring a bike and cycling the local area (including the islands). This hotel is really close to the train line, ferry to the islands, bike hire shops and even has a bike rack in the lobby. The staff are super friendly (like everywhere in Japan) and the room was clean and well stocked.

Nothing, no complaints.

The "happy hour" is long, and has quality drinks. The breakfast buffet was also stocked with a huge variety, and high--end for a hotel. The staff was super helpful!

Most of the clientele were business folks, so not many Westerners/bikers to enjoy the food/drink with.

Located a brief walk from the train station, with a view of the sea. Close to bike hire.

This was the only hotel in Japan we stayed at that didn't have feather duvets. We were also trying to arrange luggage transfer while we cycled the Shimanami Kaido. This was very challenging with language difficulties. I think the hotel used same day Sagawa and we needed next day delivery. We ended up delivering our bags to the Yamoto Office and arranging it ourselves because it was just 'too hard and vague' through the hotel.
