    Great hotel above the station. Could hardly hear any trains and it is so convenient for arriving by train.

    My wife and I had a wonderful time exploring Onomichi and stayed this nice little hotel that is located directly above the JR Onomichi Station. The services provided my the staff was excellent. Breakfast was served in meal boxes which was delicious, healthy and well presented like the Japanese way. I would be happy to recommend anyone to stay at Hotel Beacon Onomichi.

    I stayed here for one night before beginning the Shimanami Kaido the next morning. I honestly wished I could have stayed another night, as this hotel felt very comfortable and quite luxurious. The location is great as it's practically on top of Onomichi Station and steps away from the bike store to pick up/drop off a bike. Travelers should note, however, that the Shinkansen stops at Shin-Onomichi Station which is a little further away, so it can be a good idea to take a local train, esp. if you have heavy baggage.
