We requested a Non smoking room but because the windows adjoining the alleyway are mesh you get the second hand smoke from your neighbours, both our neighbours were heavy morning smokers. Someone had been smoking in the bathroom as cigarette ends had been left on the wall to the open space.Bathroom needed to be cleaned twice and even then the standard wasn’t great. Had to get pillows changed as they had mildew staining on them Mildew staining on blinds, water came in on bed with heavy rainPhoned at midnight by receptionist be told they were moving us, only to go to reception the next morning to be told we would have to share with another couple! We obviously didn’t move.Our safe was broken and had to be fixed before we could use it. They are slowly renovating the rooms, spent one of our days by the pool but with only six loungers for the complex you can only hope you get one. Those available are battered with exposed foam where the covers are split. The staff are great as usual in Bali and clearly try but with old facilities it’s got to be really difficult for them

They didn’t have my booking when I arrived, I waited an hour and a half for my room. I was told I’d get an free upgrade for my troubles for the remainder of my stay. The following day I was taken to another room that had a slightly larger lounge area, but a smaller bedroom and a bathroom with no bath. Several doors were locked shut - I asked for them to be opened and after an hour, voila I had a jacuzzi! THEN the air conditioning ‘stopped working’ Would I like to go back to the room I’d booked? Yes? Of course (which is why I booked it?). I was given many apologies for having had to settle into a room three time’s in two days - was told they’d make it up to me with a free massage. Every single person in the compound received special gift complimentary massages. And for families (couple, two kids) they got 4 vouchers. I was one woman in a double room, I still got one. When I finally and happily returned to the original room I’d booked, I found that the kind deluxe bed mattress was now replaced and was now two single mattresses stuck together and made up as a king bed. Dodgy place, which is unfortunate.

We had two families of four stay in the largest villa. The size of the villa is perfect and the pool is one of the best villa pools I have seen. All our kids loved it!Location is great, hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The security guys are sensational, seriously they are so polite and trustworthy. I left my phone out the front of the resort and later the security came to my villa to return it. Food is pretty great and well priced.Beds are a little hard and there probably needs some maintence in the kitchen as its a little dated.Overall this place is really good and great for familys. I highly recommend staying there.

We stayed in their 3BR Villa which photographs lovely but close up its filthy. Smelly dried urine stains on toilets, dried blood in the mosquito netting on the bed, rat and cockroach infested. We even had a rat join us on the couch one night much to our children's delight. We stayed 12 nights and not one surface was cleaned properly by the staff. The breakfast is disappointing too. Silly fixed menu with no variety or flexibility to swap anything around. Staff wee very helpful when our daughter took sick though with a stomach parasite which hospitalised her for 3 nights. We moved the couch on the last day to see if we left anything behind, to our horror it had rat poo and urine all over the floor which might explain why one joined us for a movie one night. We've been to Bali several times and love it but there's no need to tolerate filth when other villas are spotless. I have no idea how others have rated this so well. Did I mention the slimy pool bottom?

You can always tell the place is a bit off when they dont answer your emails. Sure enough, the place is not really represented in the photos on line. This happened at the hotel I went to last year in Amed. TV didnt workLimited water flow in the bathroom (just a dribble)Room service demanded cash and correct change (including tax)Room service delivered without cutleryOnly 2 pillows per bed limitNo chairs provided for relaxing except for 4 pool side lounges.Over priced for what was on offer.Left to go to the Royal down the road.

We loved our experience at Artemis. Staff tried their best to accommodate us as much as they could. Great location. Awesome pools. Lovely atmosphere. It was a perfect place to stay with extended family in one villa. It was great they gave us lots of mosquito repellent and tanks of water. Would definitely stay there again. Bit of wear n tear but we still enjoyed our staff.

Although the staff are really friendly and helpful, the facilities need a major uplift. The room was swarming with mozzies, which flew in through the open air bathroom window (on night 2 we had asked for a screen to be installed - it worked! Why can't those windows have permanent mozzie screens?). The bed was huge! but on such a huge bed, 2 covers should be placed, not one, as the size made it heavy and cumbersome. We did see better rooms as we passed to the entrance (hard to find & nearly impossible to access by a bigger sized taxi) so it may have been the luck of the draw. The pool was nice and the breakfast choice very good (it could have been a bit tastier, though). Overall, a 3-star stay.
