I have stayed here before and if you ignore the fact is is a converted prison it’s a very average hotel that thinks it much more. Need sound proofing between rooms.

My husband and I often spend the night in Roermond, and we love to stay at Het Arresthuis. Staff very very friendly and accommodating, at check-in we were offered a glass of sparkling wine, which really kicked off the evening for us! They offer free, secure parking on site ( a wonderful amenity). The rooms/cells are quiet, and the hotel is right down the street from the central square with cathedral. We don't go to the Outlet Centre, as we love the town, but if you were so inclined, it's only a 10 minute walk to the Outlet Centre. Breakfast included, which we enjoyed on their beautiful outside patio. Thanks to all the staff at Het Arresthuis! We'll be back!

It was such a beautifully done hotel, we were received with some Prosecco, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had dinner at their restaurant, Damianz, which is totally recommended, it was fantastic. The hotel has a lux vibe but yet keeping it within the theme. We really really loved our stay.

Following a warm welcome at the prison, and the offer of a drink (which was enjoyed in the lovely bar area) I was shown to my cell which comprised a small seating area, sleeping area and spacious bathroom. The room is well appointed with the inclusion of the a coffee making machine, toiletries and bath robes. Following a good night's sleep in the comfy bed, the breakfast the next morning offered a choice of a la carte options along with continental selections - and was delicious. A visit to the prisoners' old gym - now a well equipped fitness room - followed to address some of the calories consumed. Whilst I didn't eat in the restaurant, the kitchens looked superb and the menu offering is very much in the high end. A stay at Het Arresthuis provides a quirky yet luxurious stay, with the hotel well positioned in the historic centre of the lovely city of Roermond. I would certainly stay again.

My husband heard about this hotel on the radio here in the States and since we were planning a trip to The Netherlands anyway, we made it a point to try to get to this hotel. We were able to and enjoyed our stay very much. The pictures give the impression that this hotel is out of town, it is actually very much in town and we could walk to the main square with shops and cafes. We were greeted by friendly hotel staff and even a complimentary welcome drink. At first the thought of staying in a hotel that was once a prison was a bit unnerving however rest assured it was a very nice hotel and I would stay there again. The patio/courtyard was a nice place to have a drink and eat since the weather cooperated.

Only pro feature was that the glass door in to the shower area should have a logo to enable it to be easily seen.
