Unknown to me it has become a hotel to take dogs to. Dogs barking, corridor smelt of dogs. At breakfast up to 12 dogs in the restaurant. Even one owner feeding biscuits to a dog in the restaurant. Dogs allowed long lead in restaurant which I nearly tripped over. Not for anyone who does not have a dog.

Attended a wedding, food was amazing, staff very attentive, check in easy, it was so relaxing, what a lovely place, only one quibble i found the mattress uncomfortable so woudnt stay no more than a couple of nights, but the pillows where soft and comfy...Oh the tree Well done everyone!!!!

The staff were very friendly. The bedroom decoration needed updating, we found the mattress uncomfortable. The walls were very thin, we could hear snoring from either side of us, plus talking etc. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit available for breakfast.

This was just an amazing place to stay with our dog. They even had a dog bowl and a doggy treat in the room. All the staff and owners were so friendly and helpful. The grounds are safe for dog walking. We had a perfect stay

A little too dog friendly particularly in the dining area. The dogs were not well behaved with many barking which we found very irritating whilst having dinner. Maybe future customers should be made aware of the situation.

The location was very good and convenient for a local family wedding. The restaurant food was excellent and the staff very friendly. Our bathroom net/curtain had a considerable amount of mold but in general the room was clean, if a little dated. The breakfast service on our last day was very poor with a very long wait for food and a lack of resources to handle the amount of guests.

The hotel staff are all friendly and welcoming. Food was to a very high standard. Parkland also excellent and ideal for a doggy. The rooms were tired and dated and the walls were paper thin. We spent all night listening to next door snoring and moving around on their bed. We must of only had an hours sleep so not ideal.

Very pleasant one night stay

From the beginning to the end of our stay the staff team were superb. Nothing was too much trouble and every requirement we had was met. We atè in the restaurant 2 evenings and the foid & service was excellent. My steak on both occasions was very tender. The grounds were well maintained and were nice to walk around. The only let down was the pond nearest the hotel that seemed to be overflowing and making the nearby ground a quagmire. We hope to stay again in the future as we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A really nice place, with friendly staff. Good food great breakfasts. However, I was booked for 4 nights and put into a very small room, which would have been acceptable for one night, but very claustrophobic for more than that. As a single traveler, this is not uncommon. I should be used to it, but feel we are treated poorly by the travel industry as a whole. The onsuit however was good.

I was disappointed with my greeting as i was kept waiting and seemed to be a lack of interest in the staff generally. My room 12 was tired decor wise and the toilet provided a dripping noise all night!

We enjoyed a very friendly welcome by Maddy at this beautifully situated hotel, and thoughtfully placed dog towels at reception assured us dogs were welcome too. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet delightful with efficient service. Set in beautiful grounds with walks along the River Taw, we'd highly recommend this beautiful hotel particularly for their helpful and friendly staff.

The property was set in woodlands and has several walks etc around its perimeter. We enjoyed that very much. Unfortunately, our bedroom was very cold on the first night and the douvet did not seems to be warm enough. The bed was on the smaller side for 2 adults. the mattress was very uncomfortable with a rise in the middle. I did not have a good nights sleep on the first night. But once I managed to work out how the erratic radiator worked, I got the room to be much warmer. I did not need the extra electric fire which was in the room. Obviously there is a problem with the heating system.

We arrived later than anticipated due to delays and were surprised to find out that the restaurant stopped taking orders at 8.15pm. We were able to get some sandwiches sent up to the room though so at least we ate.Breakfast was lovely!

Overall it was ok, they are more of a pub than a hotel. The room could do with an update big stains on the carpet, the pillows were all flat and very well worn. The staff were friendly and accommodating but overall not worth the money, premier inn dare I say it knocks spots of this. Good friendly atmosphere and very country good views, just looking a little tired.

The booking confirmation told us that we had to confirm check-in at least 24 hours before arrival but it was impossible to phone the hotel as the call immediately cut off. Do not understand this request as when we arrived, the reception was manned. Evening meal in restaurant - both our starters were poor. Half a mackerel fllet?? the lamb couscous was a little tasteless. Rest was OK - service was slow.

When we had arrived most of staff had been pinged so they lost 80% of there staff. So for the dinner then put out a buffet which wasn't brilliant but was edible and the best they could do for the situation. It was still a enjoyable stay and would go back again.
