Mirage

We spent 4 nights here and the location was great, so many shops and restaurants and across the street from the Termini station. It is busy and you can hear street noise into the night, but it didn't disturb our sleep. This is an older hotel and quaint and basic and clean, so served us well as we were out most of the days. We appreciated that the reception desk was staffed 24 hrs. There is also breakfast served between 8-9:30am on level 1 at a small dining salon. The evening desk staff was younger and friendlier and helpful, maybe because they spoke better English, but we found the older staff more abrupt and almost rude when we checked in early and leaving our bags locked up. It seemed like we got mixed messages that we could open our suitcase at the hallway where all the bags were stored so we could lighten the backpacks we'd be carrying and then being barked at to move and were blocking the hallway. At the breakfast, there is an older woman who serves coffee and a continental breakfast, and she also barked at us for walking into the room next to the dining area as we thought that was where we picked up our pastry and drink, but is apparently her kitchen. It would have been helpful to have some signs posted if there was a protoccol or on the door to say if it was a kitchen, as it does not obviously look like one. We learned to just go and sit and wait for her to come to us and not rock the boat. Otherwise, no other complaints of the Mirage.

Great location, helpful staff, clean room with plenty of space, average breakfast.
