Efficient check in. Room was clean. They were the only two good points. Bed/pillows were rock hard both hardly slept. Could hear everyone in the corridor and next door clear as anything. Stay away from the restaurant for a meal. Complete and utter disaster. Every member of staff told you something different and contradictory the person before. Busy with Christmas party’s (understandable at this time of year) and our food order had been rushed in the kitchen. I had a steak, certainly not cooked to order and my partner had a chicken curry where it had been burnt on the outside and not cooked in the middle. Manager came over and would not accept our problem and spoke to us like children (we are in our early 50s) her attitude and manner was not professional at all but that’s what you get when you have young 20 somethings in charge. Come the next day my partner unfortunately could not be far from a bathroom. So, again only eat in the restaurant if you have a really good cast iron stomach and god forbid if you have words with a certain on duty manager.

Not very welcoming at check in. Nobody at reception on check out. The staff were not very friendly at all Breakfast was a bit of a nightmare with fairly restrictive finishing time. By 9am pastries etc had finished and staff were eager to clear the tables so all very rushed. We also had to endure a man drilling whilst eating! Couldn’t read some of the breakfast menu due to it being in black on a dark blue background! Room was adequate

Parking was easy, the rooms need a good refurbishment, a paint job would be a start, the staff were excellent, our food was of good quality but could have been hotter,Tewkesbury is a beautiful village and we plan to visit again but probably stay at a different hotel.

Although the staff were very friendly, professional and helpful, the building itself was rather tired with the outside areas unkempt and run down. Also having to register for a parking permit was a major inconvenience after having a long journey. The premises needs improvements to bring it up to standard.

Comfortable stay. Nice atmosphere. Good meal. Kept us a table even though we were an hour late stuck in traffic on motorway. Added bonus of a band on Friday night who were excellent. Nice warm comfortable room. Breakfast very good. We have stayed many times at The Bell and will be back when visiting Cheltenham races in the future

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the car parking good. The room and bathroom were clean but could do with some updating, the television did not work properly there was a lose fitting on the aerial lead. The breakfast was very good but was let down by the coffee which was not very hot.

Bar area occupied but even as residents we were refused access to the table in the restaurant table area that was not being used for dining (at the back). Had to hunt someone down to check us and another party in. Ran out of white wine at the bar. Room in need of renovation. Very basic and grubby carpet. Bed a very small double with a very poor mattress. Radiators came on and couldn’t be turned off. Grubby shower. Seems only 3 staff running the whole place and so the service was generally poor. Took 20 mins to get some milk for our room. Food (dinner) to be fair was good and cooked well. Bar area was nice except for loud music bands playing on the TV that nobody was interested in. Managed fortunately ti find the last available parking place, as the car park is open to the general public.

Overnight stay on the way to Devon for a wedding. Warm welcome by the reception staff. Nice touch getting a phone call prior to our visit to see if we wanted to book a dinner reservation which we did. The food was really good. The hotel room was immaculate and a really good size. Close to all amenities. We would definitely stay again

Convenient for a holiday in and around Tewkesbury, although, parking on site was sometimes in high demand. The food at the Bell was good and value for money. The bed comfortable.

Annex room 20 lacked nets at the window, thus compromising my privacy. It felt like living in a goldfish bowl. Apparently, they were "on order" for my room, which overlooked the courtyard! If impossible to buy nets in Tewkesbury, doubtless they will be available in either Cheltenham or Gloucester.

I stay here a lot, Jay and her team are always friendly and so helpful, the rooms are always clean and the food and breakfast I can never fault, only one requested to the owners please spend some money to upgrade the hotel, its tired the carpet is older than me and your staff deserve it to be upgraded, they do a great job looking after us

This is a beautiful old pub in a fantastic location, opposite the Abbey, close to the river and a very short walk from shops, restaurants, pubs and museums in the historic town of Tewkesbury. The staff are all amazing, freindly, helpful and work really hard but at busy times it sometimes seems there are not enough of them.
