Very friendly and helpful staff, very old qwerky building with lots of character, very clean, free parking permits for guests.
Wonderful bar with log fire
Great value for money
Nothing horrendous or that bad, just a bit dated decor and electric heater in the room but on such an old building it's expected.

Great location ,very friendly staff easy to park could walk to my favourite restaurant.Had a nice beer later in the bar .I slept well nice and quiet despite not being empty
Well I did not have the breakfast partly as did not want to spend £12 which for me felt a little too much maybe an idea to offer cheaper continental breakfast option for those who don’t want the full English ?

Beautiful historical building. Friendly, welcoming and helpful check in, lovely smiley staff, great room with every facility. I enjoyed a lovely overnight stay with free parking on site. Excellent touch - “if things go bump in the night” …… and a mobile contact number.
Heavy rainstorm overflowed the gutters, but for goodness sake, that’s hardly the fault of the hotel!

Location was excellent, handy for shops and opposite the Abbey. Evening meal was really good, but can't rate the breakfast as we left early and didn't have it. Staff very pleasant. Beds comfortable.
Staircase to upper floor was awkward, but it is an old building, so not much can be done about that. However, the decor and carpet were a bit tatty on the stairs. Crack in the washbasin of en suite and not very warm in the bedroom.

We have stayed at the Bell before. The Christmas decorations were lovely and the pub and dining room cosy and welcoming. We had an evening meal and breakfast which were very good and hot. The location of the Bell is good for walks along the river and of course to the Abbey. There is free parking too, which is always a plus with us. The electric heater in the bedroom worked well and was welcome as it was very cold outside.
The bathroom was very cold - only one small towel rail heater. There was no secondary glazing and the windows did not close very well so it was draughty. The shower over the bath was difficult to operate - there should be instructions. There was no handle to change from bath to shower after you got the temperature right, just a push ring which then got stuck on shower mode and therefore the next time you got soaked before you could get the water mix right and the hot water is very hot. The soap in the bathroom was a squeeze tube not a pump bottle and it was so cold that my arthritic hand could not squeeze it. 1 ply toilet paper is false economy as twice as much is used! There was no chair in the room (even though we had asked for one - were told it was not possible) There was nowhere to put the suitcase or clothes so opened up the ironing board and used that. The rail on the open "wardrobe" was too low for winter coats and dresses. Suggest that the bath is taken out and a modern shower installed.

We stayed for 2 nights and booked a twin room which was well decorated with plenty of room to walk around with en-suite bathroom which was lovely and warm. Very clean and cosy it was quiet in the evening and early in the morning. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant an also sat for 2 nights in the bar which had a lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated for Christmas. We have stayed at The Bell a few years ago whilst visiting Tewkesbury. The bonus with The Bell there is a car park at the rear of the building we just had to give our car registration to reception and I was given a free car park pass to place on the dashboard. The Bell did not disappoint absolutely perfect for our needs in the middle of the Town go shopping.
Nothing everything met our needs,

Most of the staff were not very friendly.
There were lots or rules and regulations. It was cold in the room and corridors. Breakfast over by 9 am in the week. The whole hotel needs an update. We felt like we were in an episode of Faulty Towers. The bathroom and room felt dirty and depressing. Most of the staff need customer service training. They were not very friendly.
