Lovely location and hotel. Just needs cleaning up and better contacts/staff to help.

Breakfast was lovely and location.

The room was dirty, lots of cobwebs in the bedroom and bathroom had lots of mould on the glass and seals. Glass doors need a good scrub. I tried to ask reception to call or ask the room above to turn down the TV or room radio as the noise was overwhelming. Reception cut me off 4 or 5 times so give up. It was raining so didn’t fancy getting up and walking through the courtyard/car park to get to reception. So annoying and I don’t know why they couldn’t pick up the phone to help. There is a 24hr night porter too. Shame.

Beautiful hotel with many original features. We had a dog friendly room which was right next to exit, ideal for toilet runs. This room was lovely and clean no doggy smells at all. We ate in the bar area which is warm and welcoming. Food was very nice and all staff were friendly and efficient.

We liked all of it but car park is small so fills up quickly . Not a problem for us but might be for later check ins.

Wonderful food! The menu was truly exceptional. We wanted to stay for more nights to try every dish!

lovely fresh breakfast and a good choice. Room was very nice indeed, nice décor and facilities and right in the centre of the action if you want to walk into town. Lovely staff who were friendly and polite.

A comfortable stop off overnight to break a journey.

Our room was a really good size, well furnished and very quiet as it was on the back of the property. Good view too.

Our room needed some serious dusting to get it clean. The radio and radiator were extremely dusty and the bathroom floor was very dusty around the edges. Also, by the time we were eating at 6pm, several menu options had run out.

Great room in a lovely hotel in the centre of Tewkesbury.

The hotel is in a great location. . Our room was beautiful, huge, full of character with a lovely modern bathroom . Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. We ate in the hotel in the evening too and the food, although a usual pub menu, was good. Would definitely stay again if we visited Tewkesbury.

The only thing I would say is the stair carpet was a worn in places

Fabulous location. Very good value. Lovely quiet room. Lots of hot water and fluffy towels. Very comfortable bed and bedding. A fantastic history filled building. Friendly staff. Even a rubber duck for in the bath.

Lovely stay with lovely view

The superior double room was lovely. Well decorated and lots of room with a splendid view over the river. It was interesting to see pictures and read about the history of Tewkesbury. We had a nice selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate with a pack of biscuits each and complimentary bottle of water. The bathroom was nice and had complimentary shower gel and shampoo.

The windows didn’t stay open and kept falling down and closing so we couldn’t get any fresh air. There were a few cobwebs on the ceiling. The radiator bubbled a bit and needed bleeding. The bed was a bit hard for me.

Pleasant weekend, slightly marred by no hot shower on first morning.

Loved the old, historic feel of the building. Good location. Helpful staff who created a relaxed, happy atmosphere in the hotel. Good breakfast and evening meal.

Unfortunately they had a problem with the water heater on the first night so no hot water in the morning. Problem was resolved during the day but nothing was offered in way of compensation. The pillows were very hard.

Beautiful old coaching inn, sensitively refurbished. Huge four poster bedroom with arm chairs, tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, large ensuite bathroom, well equipped, though not cluttered, it even had a duck for the bath. Very friendly and helpful staff, very welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Excellent location.

I found the lack of a lift difficult as the stairs to the rooms were difficult to negotiate. But I am elderly. However the staff were more than willing to help carry luggage.

Lovely one night stay in the beautiful town of Tewkesbury.

We stayed over for one night. The hotel in central on the main street and has a car park at the back. We were in a room in a different building at the back with a view of the river. Lovely room, lovely view, quiet. The hotel has a nice terrace at the back backing up to the river side.

Attractive room , nicely decorated I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast Good location on high street There is a nice little bar serving Perry and Cider on the same side of the street before the cathedral Good walk up to Twyford (4 miles return) along the canal and other shorter walks available

The dog tax which has now risen by 50 percent to £15 . I guess it is for “extra cleaning “ of the room - hoteliers always say this . I am sure the housekeeper doesn’t see the money. I spilled some water on the bedroom carpet using the bath mat to mop up which turned black and gathered up a ball of hair so I don’t think deep cleaning comes into it. I ordered a pie and should have received a free pint but this was never offered (only found out after dinner) . The server watched me leave a ten percent cash tip but i only realised after I left that there was already a 10pc service charge included in my bill . I should have had my glasses on !

Great location, would visit again but not have the breakfast

The room was lovely and looked out over the river. It was clean and had everything we needed. The Barman/ man on reception was friendly and helpful- sorry didn’t get his name.

The Breakfast- food was very over cooked. We were never offered toast with the cooked breakfast. We had to keep asking for everything, nothing was offered. Very limited choice of continental items.

Lovely hotel in a great location by the river

The staff were very good friendly and helpful, the hotel location was good, the room was lovely and the outside area was nice with plenty of outdoor seating. The bar and restaurant area was nice with comfy seating, overall a nice character hotel in a lovely place.

The food could have been better, the evening menu was ok but not a lot of choice if you don’t want burgers or fish and chips, the breakfast was very disappointing, not much fresh fruit at all and very few yoghurts, no healthy options really, the cooked breakfast was ok but poor quality sausages and awful cheap packaged bread. As we paid a premium rate for the hotel I didn’t think it was worth it, a shame really as I loved everything else about the hotel, especially the staff they were great.

It was very enjoyable and a ideal base for our first visit to Tewksbury.

Really liked the whole character of the hotel, our room was splendid. The staff were helpful and friendly, We enjoyed the cooked breakfast and the evening meal was fine.

Our only complaint was the difficult access to the car park, but we acknowledge,there is not much the hotel can do about it.
