    The hotel is older and charming but not fancy - no bells or whistles- and it does need some maintenance work & upgrades. BUT... for those who are looking for an inexpensive, centrally located place to shower and sleep, this was great for us. A 5-minute walk from the train station and access to anywhere we wanted to go in London by train were exactly what we were looking for. The housekeeping lady is very sweet and accommodating. There are restaurants nearby. (we stayed for 5 nights).

    This motel looks decent in photos but was a little deceiving - hot water is only available between certain hours, no central heating though had a small oil heater in the cupboard, dining room non existent, tea / coffee supplied in a little plastic container but dont expect milk, lots of stairs but no lift (may be hard for some with large suitcases), front door locked and reception a little tricky to get in to. On the upside , if you are budget conscious and wanting to stay out of London, the motel was clean and the receptionist was friendly.

    With the exception of a quite steep staircase, everything was fine for a short stay. Location close to transport links and local shops
